Thanks for this Josephite. I will pray for you too.
I love this approach and prayer. I’m adopting it
Thanks Michael. I am open to whatever direction God takes me. I tried a degree in university but kept on deferring it due to illness and eventually withdrew this year.
Thank you potatosack. Its great to see you here.
Great points, Josephite. When JoeJerk accuses, use the truth pill to shut him up!
So beautiful and consoling Ellen, thank you, and my thanks also to Beth for posting this originally.
We are all trying to navigate our way home in these unchartered waters and I often wonder whether our pains and sufferings (extreme or not) have any power or even a validity before Almighty God; however these consoling words from Jesus Himself are beyond comforting as they are a balm and speak directly to our heart.
Thank you St Faustina for giving us (the seeming orphaned and abandoned ones of the 21st century) this consolation. These words are to be cherished and remembered for our times ahead.
God Bless us all. Amen
Our Lord was like us in all things but sin. Surely, apart from His Passion and Death on the Cross, He must have suffered from the aggravations of life.
So we have great hope that He accepts our offerings of our crosses, large and small. He does say, “ not one jot nor one tittle shall pass away.”
Because we are united to Him in a mystical way in the Mystical Body of Christ, we are assured of it.
Is it normal on the journey of faith to feel that ones faith is missing. Perhaps it is a test
You are going through a great purgation that is extremely painful even frightening - a place where it is hard to find consolation.
God is close yet hidden
St John of the Cross the mystic speaks of this abandonment
Where have You hidden Yourself,
And abandoned me in my groaning, O my Beloved?
You have fled like the hart,
Having wounded me.
I ran after You, crying; but You were gone.
According to Father Ripperger you are blessed - seems you are going through the passive purgative way where God is acting to purify your soul directly to detach you from sin.
Listen to this talk from about the 12 minute mark to the 15 minute mark.
I was listening to this today and immediately thought of you Sanctus!
I will pray to Our Lady. Maybe she will let me bear your Cross for you up to Christmas. I hope it doesn't kill me.
In either case I will make you the special focus of my prayers up to the Nativity.
Excellent resource for Sanctus! To my mind it can be the only explanation. I think of the priest poet Gerard Manley Hopkins documenting this very real torment in his Dark Sonnets. He describes it so poignantly. Referring to his unanswered cries to God as letters lying in the dead letter room at the post office. Undelivered. But he refuses to despair.(he calls despair "Carrion Comfort") When you are walking through hell the only thing to do is to keep on walking. Prayers for Sanctus and for all struggling through this purgation.
Sounds like a normal day at the office Peter.
Peter, sincerely pray: "Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God, have mercy on me a sinner; guide me to my next step!" God will never fail you! He will provide for you or send the right person to help you move forward. We'll be praying for you here on MOG!
Thank you Padraig.
Thanks garabandal. I also learned from this video the importance of saying the rosary devoutly. He said the demons try and get us to say it mechanically .
Thank you Terry.
Yes say the Hail Mary slowly and in the same excited tone of the angel Gabriel and Elizabeth - it is a prayer of praise and wonder -
Hail Mary full of grace the Lord is with thee - Blessed art thou amongst women and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
