Please storm heaven on behalf of my husband who will be having an operation for his glaucoma on Tuesday 3rd. It's crucial that he retain the sight in his 'good' eye, where the glaucoma is. His other eye sees very little. He's a keen pianist and already finds sight reading incredibly difficult. I know he's very worried about this operation, that it goes well. One of my mother's friends tells me she had an op for glaucoma and her sight was improved. There is no cure but if the nerve endings aren't destroyed, they can regrow. Laurence's glaucoma has been aggressive and developed quickly, which is unusual. Thanks and God bless x
Clare, my prayers go up to heaven for your husband. May he endure the operation safely as I ask that he resides safely between the hearts of Mother Mary and Her Son Jesus Christ. I pray also for you as I know it is very difficult not to worry. These prayers at tomorrow's mass will also be placed at the feet of Jesus. Shep
Praying, and pray to St.Lucy, patron saint of eye trouble, God bless you and your husband, and please heal his sight, Lord Jesus.
Your prayers are a great comfort to me, thank you. He goes in tomorrow - and should come home as well. Then I pray the whole thing works.....
Well he's home now and recovering well. The surgeon said it all went smoothly, so now we have to hope that there is little scarring, as this is crucial. So far it all looks positive. THANK YOU for all your prayers. I know they have helped, and he is greatly comforted by them.
Clare, so happy your husband has his surgery in the past. We prayed our favorite prayer for your husband and you. We turned to St. Lucy when our very young daughter needed two eye surgeries. She came though really well in large part because of our Blessed Mother and St. Lucy. Prayer to Saint Lucy Saint Lucy Whose beautiful name signifies 'LIGHT' by the light of faith which God bestowed upon you increase and preserve His light in my soul so that I may avoid evil, be zealous in the performance of good works and abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and sin. Obtain for me, by your intercession with God Perfect vision for my bodily eyes and the grace to use them for God’s greater honour and glory and the salvation of souls. St. Lucy, virgin and martyr hear my prayers and obtain my petitions. Amen.
Oregon, that's so beautiful.... I'm going to copy it and say it as well. Thanks too Padraig and everyone else whose prayers have been so powerful so far.
Thanks for all your prayers - they have truly helped. We went for the 2-week post op meeting with the specialist and he is delighted with the progress. Says that everything is as he would wish and we are being careful to keep it all that way. Things could still go awry, scar tissue could form, and the specialist would have to bring out 'the heavy cavalry', but with God's grace, we will pull through this and the glaucoma will be a thing of the past. I think too that not all the affected nerves have been destroyed, where there is damage only, the nerves can regrow and sight regained in the iffy areas. We are hoping so. He has only one good eye, and this is the one affected. The other eye sees very little. I am so grateful to God for this mercy. He has been so good to us, and so have all you who have been praying! God bless and thank you once again x
