My own sense is somewhere in between 1 and 2, elements of both being observable. But regardless of our interpretation of the prophesied conversion of Russia, nobody should have any doubts as to the grave danger of the present situation. This is not simply a question of individual leaders - focusing exclusively on Vladimir Putin (whom I view as more of an opportunist than anything else) may in fact be to miss the larger picture of the whole Russian military apparatus and socio-political trends in Russia.

It is extremely sobering to realize that during their 2009 'Zapad' (West) military exercises, Russia and Belarus simulated a pre-emptive nuclear strike on Warsaw of precisely the sort that Duma's resident buffoon Vladimir Zhirinovsky recommended recently. This idea - together with the overrunning of the Baltic States - clearly exists within Russian military doctrine.

It is also sobering to see Moscow University sociology professor Aleksandr Dugin, the theorist of Eurasianism who is an advisor to head of Russian Presidential Administration Sergei Naryshkin and a major influence on the pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk, now openly talking about the need to carry out a 'genocide of cretins' in the Ukraine

For decades priests around the globe have been praying for the conversion of Russia and for the consecration of Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary. In one of his 1950s TV shows, Bishop Fulton stated that, and he was also wearing an 18th century Russian cross, given to him by a friend. We must continue doing that; Russian people are good, they are our brothers and sisters, and the evil of communism has been grafted onto them most unnaturally and forcibly.
It is somewhat reasonable to expect that prophesied Great warning and then the Great miracle will relate somehow to Russia, and its people. Pray for the conversion of Russia every day, pray for the end of communism, which from Russia has now spread everywhere else, including the US.

 

Our family has been doing this in our evening rosary and prayers. The Russian people have been enslaved for to long and communism has been its worst nemise.

 

...and make your First Saturdays in reparation to Our Lady as She requested at Fatima. She did not only ask for the consecration of Russia, but requested the First Satuday devotion to Her Immaculate Heart. Please do as She requested.

 

So how do you persuade Popes and bishops to perform the consecration after all these years? It is 97th anniversary of the Fatima already, and no one had found it worthwhile listening to Our Mother's pleads.

 

Let us do our part (making our First Saturdays as requested) and pray for our Bishops and Priests to do theirs.
