I won't go into how I got here but I've been captured by contemporary gospel music. It makes me smile and laugh and dance and I just can't help my self.
The new musicians have the same old message just in contemporary attire.
John P Kee is one of my favorites as well as Smokie Norful but this young man, Dewayne Woods is so good for healing, it's pure worship.

Lovely ...it reminds me of, 'I believe I can fly'

Lee I to like to listen to it at home. However, it saddens my heart that it has replaced traditional and liturgical approved music at our parish. I had a need several weeks ago to attend the Life Teens Mass. The choir director is retired from a major Catholic University and tours the US with his band during the summer; BTW, he is paid for his services at our church. It looked like Country and Western night, dress, casual demeanor, and only one song was from the approved music. Three of the songs he wrote and performs and sells his Cd's at our church. The wife and I both wanted to depart but it was the last mass of the day.

Cecil, I'm like you in wanting the liturgy just the way it's intended to be. The music for advent is beautiful and I look forward to it every year. BUT in my kitchen, I like to sing and dance and make a joyful noise unto the Lord, much the way David felt I think. It brings me that much closer and keeps my tether tighter during the day.

    Lee,
That is really beautiful music. I have never heard of this artist but I am looking up amazon to get a CD from her.

    Thanks so much.
