On this Feast of Corpus Christi, I was inspired by my parish priest, bravely and resolutely following and correcting a communicant who hadn’t consumed the Eucharist immediately. Then I watched a WW2 movie on Tubi, a free streaming platform on cable tv, called Mosquito Squadron, filmed in 1970. Rated G. An old fashioned movie, chaste. In it was a most affecting scene of priestly courage and martyrdom whilst the French Underground priest prayed the Consecration prayers in Latin, sacrificing his life while helping a number of POWs escape. I cried my eyes out and was able to say things to my atheist husband about my faith, and our courageous and crucially important priests. Deo gratias!!!
