I work with a homeless charity that works with men from all walks of life, from different religions and sexual orientations. My role is to support my clients to escape homelessness and engage them in a non judgemental way. All good so far...
I engaged in a heated discussion with another member of staff the other night about the Great Reset, population control etc I was asked about my opinion on this and I entered into a speil about how abortion, euthanasia were a tool to depopulate the world. I also said I believed the legalisation of homosexuality was also a tool in this regard.
I came into work tonight to be met by my manager who said there has been a complaint and asked me for my version of the 'argument', I relayed the details as honestly as I could. I was told that this could be construed as discrimination against our gay clients and goes against the ethos of the organisation. My manager also said that the versions from other staff members who were present will need to be looked into and that this is not the end of the matter.
In my eight years here, I have never got written warnings or other sanctions but I fear this could come under gross misconduct which will lead to instant dismissal. I don't know, I could be making this bigger than it is but I'm genuienely fearful for my job.
Please keep me in your prayers tonight and for the rest of the week as this has grown legs.
    Thank you.

I would also re-read the Church's teaching on this so you are prepared to give a articulate response to further "inquiry".

The Catechism has a section on it. If you emphasize the importance of not discriminating at the same time not legitimizing sinful behavior, it is a reasonable argument. You may want to have a written statement prepared.

If you are fired, or in anticipation you could contact the Thomas Moore Society who defends religious liberty usually free of charge. If you work for a large organization one call may be all it takes from them to defuse the situation.

Hopefully you don't live in Finland, they could lock you up for 2 years for stating the Church's position.

Julia Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us.

May God help you grimsocks. It is a good idea to ask your Guardian Angel for assistance for you in any discussion during this inquisition. And ask the Guardian Angels of all those involved to pray for the individuals concerned that they be inspired by Charity with regard to your intentions.

O Angel of God my Guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here
Ever this day be at my side,
To light and guard, to rule and guide.
    Amen

My dear selfless Guardian Angel. Go to the Guardian Angel of grimsocks and all Guardian Angels involved in this crisis, and ask those Angels to pray for each one concerned that charity may prevail.

At any meetings involved be present with your precious prayers invoking Holy Spirit to act in a powerful way to bring a peaceful conclusion, with no loss of job for grimsocks. Amen.

through all my years of working for other people, being on various boards of directors etc. I have seen a certain element of people who thrive on discourse in the workplace. It's almost like they intentionally set you up to take you out. It's almost a demonic thing. And I have fallen into the trap, too. So, I have learned instead of answering a question, to ask a question instead. Just planting that little seed. In your case I would play dumb and just ask questions. I know you are an honest person and due to the type of work you are in , you obviously are a generous person and doing God's work. It is really tough to be a good Christian in today's world! But be strong. And If God closes this door He will open another one. I will be praying for you that you are not suffering too much stress over this. God Bless You!

Prayers all day and tonight at work.

I so very much feel for you. It is sad to say but I tend to keep myself very much to myself at work. This is a lot easier because I am on the Night Shift this makes it a lot easier, but even so I ration my conversations with the few others I encounter others quite strictly.

People without God in their lives remind me of an empty jar with lots of empty flies buzzing about inside. They have no centre , no anchor just a lot of vapid ideas they often pick up from talking heads and the media. Also they often seem to have a sixth sense for people of prayer and buzz over to home in on them to cause trouble wherever they can. Although supposed to be , 'Liberal', they are the most Illiberal people you will lever meet. It is my way or the highway and that's that.

This reminds me of a job interview for the, 'Samaritans' a few years back. This is a voluntary society that gives phone counselling to folks considering suicide.

Almost the first question at the interview was what I would do if someone asked for contact details to procure and Abortion. I said they would not get them from me. When asked why so, I said I would not help to plan a murder of an unborn baby, no more would I give a woman the contact details of a hit man to murder their husband.

So that was the end of that.

Yes the World has turned against us, as Jesus warned:

    Luke 10:3

Now go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs among wolves.

Thank you all for your responses. I should know by now to keep my big mouth shut but I tend to fall into the same trap over and over again. Please keep me in your prayers as this has some way to go I feel.

It's a sad thing to say but doing/saying the right thing often ends up doing no-one any favours. When I was working in my last job, someone witnessed two contractors engaged in what should have been private behaviour, in the toilet (not in a cubicle but openly). This was on a Saturday morning when there were only a few people in the building and the men involved might have thought it unlikely that anyone would interrupt them. The witness reported the event confidentially but his name got out and he was regarded as a 'snitch' and few people would speak to him. I would have done exactly the same and was, in fact at work on the same floor so it was only chance that the witness wasn't myself.

In the same company, I was in charge of a couple of hundred specialist pension accounts. I administered these accounts and was the contact point for the customers some of whom I came to know and like (as far as you can when contact is by phone). Anyway, by chance, I became aware that two of these had been overcharged considerably on the commission paid to the person who sold them their pensions. I decided to investigate further and ended up checking every account I handled. The commission had been incorrectly calculated on the majority of the accounts and the errors involved tens of thousands of pounds over the years. I reported my findings to my boss knowing that the person responsible was still employed and was, by this time head of the Commissions Section, he was also an open homosexual and was very popular. My boss asked me to 'leave it with him'. I heard nothing more and, a few weeks later, I enquired about progress/action. He said that he had decided that the errors were none of our business and that he would not be doing anything about the situation (which was ongoing, incorrect charges were being added to incorrect charges each year!).

I decided to 'blow the whistle' and followed the procedure for doing so. My name 'got out' which came as no surprise and my boss was livid with me and my rise was far less than expected that year. Some people wouldn't speak to me and I started to receive phone calls at home late at night with no-one responding when I picked up. Someone drove nails into my tyres etc. etc. I left and claimed unfair and constructive dismissal and received a modest sum. The irony is that I doubt that the commissions were ever corrected and wish now that I had reported matters to the financial regulators. I might as well have just said to myself, 'Well I told the boss, what more could I do'. It's a sad, bad world.

    Praying for you, friend.

True whistle blowers these days are persecuted not thanked. Its the world we are in this new century--unmoored from morals and ethics. Even if there is a sense of ethics the cost to be paid is considered too high by many.
