I just saw Mark's latest blog post and must say I was disheartened to read that some Canadian bishops are banning him from their diocese for what imo seems to be non-valid reasons. I have been reading Mark's blog for a few years now and always found it to be "Catholic" and sound. I never had the impression that Mark identified himself as a "seer" or locutionist. I felt he was inspired by the Holy Spirit to share his understanding of the Scriptures and writing of the saints and popes. In every sense of the word, he was and is practicing our common baptismal promise of being a prophet. I think it's just sad that bishops would not want to allow the people in their dioceses to have "live" access to Mark's ministry. Having said all that, this blog might be one of Mark's best. He distinguishes himself as a true and faithful Catholic when despite what must be extreme disappointment to him, he acknowledges and submits to the bishops order in humble obedience. But, he goes one step further and out of love for these men, who have a hard job in shepherding souls, asks us to pray for them. I will pray for them and for Mark. I also am grateful for Mark's humble example here- something I need to do better at. Peace.

I read this last evening as well. What came to me is the biblical passage, 'if you are not accepted, shake the dust off your sandals and move on'. I realize evangelization is Mark's apostolate, but we all must realize we are now living in the end times, so if we think we are going to find favor with bishops, priests or laity when trying to evangelize we are mistaken more times than not. It is hard enough trying to talk the faith to ones own family let alone trying to get others to want to hear it. Raymond DeSouza, a world renown evangelist and apologetics speaker, came to my Church and not one person showed up and we left. Our priest never even came or promoted his talk. Yes, we cannot get to ruffled when our desire to evangelize is no longer accepted, as we are in a new era.

Im disappointed and surprised to see this. I hold Mark in the highest regard, most especially because of his submission to authority and because he has never ever criticised the Church or religious - a good sign. Ive even bought some of his music to support him.
I'll pray for him. What more can I do after all but pray.
Chin up Mark - Id love it if you came to Ireland and evangelised - God knows we need someone like you here!!

His greatest decision was obedience :)

If it was easy... everyone would do it. Padre Pio and the seers Fatima all had to suck up their human side and except the Will of God. I actually have more respect for Mark Mallet. May God continue to bless him.

How easy it would have been for him to talk bad about the bishops and ignore their rulings. His path has been thrown a road block and he has accepted the cross.

May God Bless him and his ministry.

In a funny kind of way this is, I think a blessing. For a Prophet is never accepted in his own country.

    Luke 4:24

    Jesus Rejected at Nazareth

23And He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'" 24And He said, "Truly I say to you, no prophet is welcome in his hometown. 25"But I say to you in truth, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the sky was shut up for three years and six months, when a great famine came over all the land;…

So I would take this as a very positive Sign that Mark flies on the side of the angels. Some flowers flourish in gentle rain some in storms. I suspect Mark is a tornado , bring them on kinda guy.

    But more prayers.

You know when my ass got pushed out of the monastery the very Holy and Wise Abbots last words were that I needed to see a head shrinker, only for my even holier and wiser Spiritual Director I would still probably be lying on some shrinks couch with him scrathing his head

Mark's obedience is great. I wasn't very impressed with the bishop. He made a comment to the effect that they don't want anyone in their diocese that claims to have private revelations. So much for the office of prophet, which is listed only after "apostle" in St. Paul's list in I Cor. 12:28

I wonder if this might be in some way linked to doors being closed in the face of the Medugorje visionaries in the USA by other bishops?

...in that a lot of this censure seems to focus on hostile prelates in Rome itself?

Signs of the times for sure. Evangelization starts in the home. Ask yourself, how many family members and relatives can you reach with talking the faith today? How many friends or co-workers can you touch in faith discussions? How many of you could last more than a year teaching faith formation to our youth? I have found that unless you read specifically out of the 'watered down catechetical book' you will not be accepted. This is not new. It has been going on, in almost ever diocese in the country, for decades now. The darkness of those who want to live in a 'bubble church' where authentic Catholic truth is scorned, has been growing for decades and the darkness is only getting darker by the day. This should not keep us from trying, but don't be to disappointed when your desire to teach the fullness of the faith is disdained by those around you (even by bishops and priests). Palm Sunday for Christianity is over, yet we know that our Easter day is upon the horizon. Keep the faith!

    Fatima,
So many wonderful things happenning and you are still caught in the negative. The reforms of Vatican two are slowly being reformed by the Holy Spirit itself. In my church more people are kneeling, more people are taking the Eucharist by the tongue (not the hands), the music is gradually becoming more traditional. Those nuns and priests that threw away the habits are slowly going back to their maker and their orders and beliefs are slowly dying out. The orders that are strong and growing are conservative and traditional. The new order of priest are more traditional with a great conviction. We are beginning to see the fruits of Saint John Paul the Second. His personal children (priests) are entering the fold. His children are devote and very marian. I see the Holy Spirit slowly working its cleansing. Vatican 2 was not evil in and of itself. It was the way the rules were implemented. It was a way for many priest and nuns to free themselves from the work of God. But those changes were brought about by individuals. Individuals and their beliefs gradually die out and the Holy Spirit and communion of saints will reign.

All of us can make changes at our parishes but they are in Gods time not our time. Our greatest instrument is our example (humble, obedient and prayerful). We might not see immediate change but it will happen.

The true faith and faithful will be small in numbers before the great conversion. Do not look negatively at the Church...to do that is to look negatively at the Holy Spirit. God has a plan...and we are all part of it.

    May Gods Will be Done

fallen saint, the thread we are on, is on the challenges the church is facing in regards to evangelization efforts. If you want to start an Hallelujah thread and everything is roses out there in the evangelization efforts by all means do so. I am sure that Mark Mallett's blog was not to be 'caught in the negative' as you say and neither is my post. It is to be realistic that we are in the era of the cross and yes, we can make a difference in parish through prayer. Doors are shut in many parishes around the globe to the voice in the wilderness for truth. Mark found this out in his apostolate and this is not the work of the Holy Spirit. The intention of my post was to 'shake the dust off your sandals' and find the pockets of good faith still present. Sorry you only seen the negative in it.

This is not the work of the Holy Spirit...maybe it is.

    Brother al

Note: Mark Mallets latest...wheres the thread on the-challenges we are facing. And by far, i am the least hallelujah here. Fire and Brimestone is all around us but God does not want us to dwell on it... He wants us to pray, fast and go to Sacraments.

Maybe change a few souls in the process :)

    God will handle the rest.

    Standing With Christ

THE past two weeks, I have taken time, as I said I would, to ponder my ministry, its direction, and my personal journey. I’ve received many letters in that time filled with encouragement and prayer, and I am truly grateful for the love and support of many brothers and sisters, most of whom I’ve never met in person.

I’ve asked the Lord a question: am I doing what you want me to do? I felt the question was essential. As I wrote in On My Ministry, the cancellation of a major concert tour has had a big impact on my ability to provide for my family. My music is akin to St. Paul’s “tent-making.” And since my first vocation is my beloved wife and children and the spiritual and physical provision of their needs, I had to stop for a moment and ask Jesus again what His will is. What happened next, I did not expect…

    INTO THE TOMB

While many celebrated the Resurrection, the Lord took me deep into the tomb… if not deep with Him into Hades itself. I was assailed with incredible doubts and temptations that I’ve never experienced before. I questioned my entire calling, even questioned the love of my family and friends. This trial uncovered deep-seated fears and judgments. It continues to reveal to me areas in need of further repentance, letting go, and surrender. A Scripture that is speaking deeply to me at this time is Our Lord’s words: For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and that of the gospel will save it. (Mark 8:35)

Jesus wants me to give up everything. And by this I mean every attachment, every god, every ounce of my own will so that He can give me every ounce of Himself. This is hard to do. I don’t know why I cling. I don’t know why I hold onto trash when He offers me gold. He is showing me, in a word, that I am afraid.

    FEARS

There are two levels of fear operating today. The first one is that which every Christian, and in fact every Old Testament figure from the beginning of salvation history has had to face: the fear of trusting totally in God. It means losing control. Adam and Eve grasped for control in the Garden of Eve and forfeited their freedom. True freedom then is totally giving God control of our lives. We do this by following not only His Commandments, but by living our lives in imitation of our Master who loved, and loved, and loved until the end. He did not seek comfort; He did not seek after His own welfare; He never put His own interests first. You see, before Jesus gave up His body on the Cross, He first gave up His human will in thirty years of total abandonment to the Father’s will.

Gethsemane was a tough hour for Our Lord. It was the complete denudation of His human will because, until then, He walked away from His persecutors, from the edge of cliffs, from storms that would have sunk anyone else. But now He was facing the Storm. And in order to do so, it required absolute trust in His Father’s plan—trust in a path that passed through suffering. We don’t trust God because we don’t want to suffer. Well, the truth is that we are going to suffer in this life whether we suffer with or without God. But with Him, our suffering takes on the power of the Cross and works constantly toward a Resurrection of His life in and around us.

And that leads me to the second fear we are facing that is particular to this time and generation: it is literally a demon of fear that has been unleashed upon the entire world to drive men crazy, to bring them into despair, and to silence otherwise good men and women in the face of great evils. Several times since Easter, the vision a woman had last year has come to mind. Her mother, whom I know, said this daughter of hers has been gifted with a window into the supernatural. In Hell Unleashed—a writing I strongly recommend re-reading—I quoted this woman’s vision, as relayed by her mother:

My older daughter sees many beings good and bad [angels] in battle. She has spoken many times about how it’s an all out war and it’s only getting bigger and the different kinds of beings. Our Lady appeared to her in a dream last year as our Lady of Guadalupe. She told her that the demon coming is larger and fiercer than all the others. That she is not to engage this demon nor listen to it. It was going to try to take over the world. This is a demon of fear. It was a fear that my daughter said was going to envelop everyone and everything. Staying close to the Sacraments and Jesus and Mary are of the utmost importance.

Right Indy, I think most all of on this forum can identify with Mark's blog. We are all trying to figure out what things we must die to in order for the Will of God to live more fully in us. Keeping strong in a world going to hell in a hand basket is our challenge too. We had better ready our self for a battle none of us could have ever imagined. Yet, by the grace of God we can do it!
