Mark Wahlberg. Believe it or not he prays for 30 minutes every day and visits a church daily. He attributes all good things in his life to his faith. He has even made a video supporting religious vocations

I have a little Mark Wahlberg story. My son has worked on a couple of films with Mark who took a liking to my son, he knew he was also was from Massachusets, and had a similar Irish Catholic background. One day my son returned to his trailer on location to find dozens of pairs of pricey brand new sneakers in every color imaginable.
Yup, they were a gift from Mark who happens to have the same shoe size as my son. Apparently a sponsor had gifted all the sneakers to Mark, and he was good enough to pass them onto my son. He's a good guy.

Oh yes! And Edmund O'Brien and Jimmy Cagney. A lot of old Hollywood. Father Peyton featured them in some of his videos.

Did your son work on the film about the Boston marathon? I thought that was an excellent film.

Oh yeah, a lot of the old stars! Loretta Young's brother-in-law Ricardo Montalbán. Montalbán was a practicing Catholic, once claiming that his religion was the most important thing in his life.[49] He was a member of the Good Shepherd Parish and the Catholic Motion Picture Guild in Beverly Hills, California.[50] In 1998, Pope John Paul II made him a Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great (KSG),[51] the highest honor a Roman Catholic lay person can receive from the Church.

Well he's passed on awhile now, Chris Farley (of "Saturday Night Live" fame), and I wasn't a huge fan of his, but even after achieving fame, Chris would visit shut-ins and elderly; deliver medications, groceries, etc.

He NEVER told the elderly or shut-ins that he was famous.

I read a story about Alec Guinness and one of the reasons contributing to his conversion. He was filming The Swan with Grace Kelly, he noticed that while they were all having lunch she always went off by herself. One day he followed her and decided to peak in her trailer to see what she was doing. He saw her kneeling and devoutly praying the rosary, which touched him deeply.

It was a good film, unfortunately my son was not involved with this one. The COVID regulations have crushed the film industry. Work in the business is nearly nonexistent at the moment, lots of trouble with unions, etc.

I don;t suppose anyone reading this will remember her now, but Loretta Young was a very devout Catholic indeed, the most devout I have heard about from Hollywood.Archbishop Fulton Sheen used to give private retreats to the Stars in Hollywood which were very well attended and had very good effect.

I think Loretta Young and Lucille Ball were the organisers. Loretta towards the end of her life became a very great devotee to the Marian Site of Medugorje to which she made many pilgrimages nd she records two miracles there.

The first was that Loretta's eyes had been damaged by stage Krieg lights and she could not stand strong lights. But at Medugorge she saw the sun pulse and dance and it did not hurt her eyes at all hen she looked directly at it.

The second miracle there was that she fell and thought she had seriously sprained her foot (but when she got back to the USA Doctors found she had really broken several bones). An Indian nurse came up to Loretta said she was a medic and wrapped up her leg in bandages after covering her leg in what seemed to be mud. The nun then vanished. Loretta was able to walk all over the apparition site for several days with no pain at all.
