Is Society on the Brink? Revealing JD Unwin's Predictions
In this thought-provoking video, Catholic couple Ken and Janelle Yasinski from Catholic Minute explore the alarming question: "Is Society on the Brink of Collapse?" Drawing from the extensive research of Oxford Anthropologist J.D. Unwin, they discuss how the erosion of premarital chastity and marital fidelity can lead to societal collapse. Ken and Janelle share insights from their recent talk at the Catholic Family Life Conference, the largest Catholic family conference in Canada, and delve into the current cultural challenges facing the family unit.

    Key Points Discussed:
    1. J.D. Unwin's Research: Analyzing 80 primitive tribes and six civilizations over 5,000 years, Unwin found that societies collapse when they lose premarital chastity and marital fidelity.
    2. Current Cultural Trends: The alarming rise in cohabitation and premarital sexual activity, coupled with the global spread of online pornography, is examined as a precursor to societal decline.
    3. The Catholic Perspective: The Yasinskis highlight how the loss of reason, as seen through the lens of Catholic teaching, contributes to this societal breakdown.
    4. Personal Observations and Statistics: Reflecting on societal changes, they share statistics from the United States and Canada, emphasizing the shifting norms around cohabitation and marriage.
    5. The Role of the Catholic Church and forming Community: They discuss the importance of community and prayer, particularly the rosary, in combating these trends and fostering a culture of holiness and virtue.
Ken and Janelle invite viewers to share their thoughts and experiences in the comments. They emphasize the importance of building community and praying the rosary as practical steps to address these cultural challenges.

I’m fairly sure Unwin’s work has been mentioned on this forum before as I have a file saved to my computer outlining his theory in detail and I’m unlikely to have found it anywhere else. It’s worth tracking down and reading.

However, fascinating though Unwin’s theory is, it’s clear that without divine intervention our civilisation is doomed and what could follow it won’t be pretty. We are drowning in our own filth.

There have been several nights of serious rioting in England over mass migration; especially over Islamic migration. England hovers on the brink of the abyss. This follows from rioting in Ireland for a long period over the same things. The chickens are coming home to roost.

Catholic Prophesy about England is devastating. It seems the entire country will fall into anarchy before reverting back to the Catholic Faith. This will happen right across Europe. So much for Globalism .

I see the Stock Markets have gone crazy and the Middle East is yet again on the brink.

All over the World the lamps are winking out. Who knows if we shall see them lit again in our life times. But thing are crumbling slowly, we have more time for prayer and personal conversion...also some prudent preparations.

I can't help but think we are close to the fulfillment of Revelation 18. It mentions in it that the whore of babylon gets a double portion, for all the errors which she has spread. Which implies that all other nations which drank from her cup, get a regular portion for what they have done. No where in the west will be unaffected, but one nation will be afflicted far more than the rest.

For me, this is a double edged sword, while it will be horrible to witness this it will also be wonderful for the structures of evil to collapse. I like listening to TD Jakes as of late, as his insights into the Gospels and the persons of God are incredible. He mentioned how the offering to God in times past was not just regular flour, but rather fine flour. This fine flour was ground extra fine. Then he made the comparison to the body of Christ, the offering will be ground extra fine. I was unable but to make the connection that in these times, we are being ground extra fine and will continue to be. Which will set up the Church for the times to come. Birth pains and all.

Coincidently that todays Gospel is on the beheading of John the Baptist. Prayers for these poor souls that John intercede for them

By accident I have been listening to a lot of talks from Father Benedict Groeschel a Franciscan Friar from New Jersey who died back in 2014. Mother Angelica of EWTN loved him and made him famous. He was like Angelica very Conservative and condemned corruption in the Church before it became popular. He was superbly well qualified and used as an advisor by Bishops all across the USA and Canada on matters supernatural and mystical. On top of anything else he was a very well qualified psychologist.

He went up in flames in 2012 when he suggested that abusive priests need not necessarily go to jail on first offending and that these bad priests were sometimes egged on by their victims.

But anyway I love to listen to him. My impression of him was that he was saintly and very wise and told great stories.

But anyway he mentioned' , Doom and gloom ', people who said that things are falling apart or that the World is coming to an end. He made me laugh by saying that he hoped that the World was coming to an end as then he could go to heaven and get some peace and quiet.:):)

He also said that anyone who did not believe in Purgatory should try living in New York:D:D

But he reminded me that when God acts in terms of Chastisement that it is a blessing, not a curse. That He is acting to heal us rather than to hurt us. It might be well to remember this when times get rough.

He also mentioned that he saw Blessed Solanus Casey in ecstasy in front of the Tabernacle and it nearly scared him to death.:):)

One thing I think that many of the Catholic commentators who think about what is coming have not thought about is how things will change in terms of day to day life, I mean physically.

When the Roman Empire fell for instance St Jerome wound up living in a cave outside Jerusalem. St Augustine's home city /diocese fell to the Goths. All Romans thought that the World had come to an end.

I think many people think that things like the internet , power, medicine and our economies will continue. It just has not sunk in how very, very radical these changes will be. They just don't get it for some reason.

A whole new World. Like a science fiction film we will be living in.

This is exactly it, good things are coming. Revelation isn't a book of horrors, because we have the good news. We have our faith in Jesus Christ. The cross is hard to carry, especially when it gets rough and everything seems like it is falling apart at the seams. But somehow we make it through by the Grace of God, and are better for it. It's only when looking back that we see this. God will sort out everything as He always does.

Not sure if you have heard of Dr. Elaine Ingham, but she is well worth watching if you plan on growing stuff in the future. She explains everything in regards to soil and how it connects to plants. How we don't need pestacides or herbacides, because the food soil web takes care of everything. I have been following her advice, which is very simple, and all sorts of stuff grows way better. It boils down to simply feeding the soil, which then unlocks all the nutrition in it, which is essentially letting nature take it's course. Growing how God intended.

It also makes gardening entirely free. No need for additional stuff.

You can call me a " worry wart", or a "Debbie downer", but I must admit as soon as I read this I thought about your possible move to Spain. I know that after everything you've gone through in Ireland, you do not scare easily... but still.:(

He said one time to someone who said, 'Things are going to get very bad!'

'The havve already happened in New York'.

I love the way he helped the poor. He had so many good, wise things to say about them.

Barbarians are invading the West, they should be expelled. Our nations are doing nothing to protect it's citizens. Only God can save us.
