Numerous references to Pope Francis but no mention whatsoever of God. Not God the Father. Not God the Son. And not God the Holy Spirit. Other than a couple of Scriptural references in the literature, any atheist humanist could have made that video and, presumably, devised the programme it was promoting. I suppose they are relying on secular teachers and equally badly catechised parents to teach the children that the ultimate goal is everlasting life with God in Heaven. Perhaps there are other aspects to the preparation for Confirmation centred on the Creator rather than the created. We can but hope but I suspect that in about 20 years' time the same people will be blaming all and sundry for Confirmation day having been the last time most of the children will have set foot inside a Church other than for weddings and funerals.
