Darkness May Be Closing In — Literally! On June 9, Al Qaeda in Yemen fired rocket-propelled grenades and mortars at electric transmission towers. The damage was sufficient to cause a national blackout: 24 million people suddenly plunged into darkness, communications disrupted, vital services suspended — a condition of near chaos. The Western media largely ignored the event, so focused was their attention on the war being waged by the terrorist army of ISIS in Syria and Iraq. That war, still ongoing, resulted in what is being proclaimed as the “new caliphate” by its leader, Abu Bakr al Baghdadi, who has issued an exhortation — one might call it a religious command — to all Muslims to take up arms and join the cause of establishing a worldwide Islamic state. ISIS and its ambitions are indeed alarming, not to mention several other crises involving Ukraine, Russia, China and the world economy; but as former United States Congressman and retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel Allen West has pointed out, the blackout in Yemen was a rehearsal for what Islamic terrorists are planning to unleash on the United States: an electro-magnetic pulse (EMP) attack. While a congressman, West served on the House Armed Services Committee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, which was then concerned with the very real possibility (one might even say probability) that an EMP attack on the U.S. was in the planning stages. A study by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission confirmed that a national blackout would result if nine key transformer substations were destroyed. Were this to happen, a long-term national blackout would ensue. The study estimated that the disruption of essential societal functions would be so severe that 9 out of 10 Americans would die of starvation before — and if — power could be restored. Why does Lt. Col. West think such an attack is imminent? Because North Korea has given Al Qaeda in Yemen 15 mobile Scud-B missiles. These missiles can be launched from freighters from a distance of 300 kilometers from their targets. They are also capable of carrying nuclear warheads. What does Al Qaeda plan to do with these missiles? Lt. Col. West believes there is a coordinated effort being undertaken now to secure nuclear warheads for these missiles. The most likely source of supply is Pakistan, which has a nuclear arsenal and is under threat of takeover from the Taliban and other Islamic militants who share Al Qaeda’s dream of destroying what remains of Western civilization. As we reported in The Fatima Crusader in Fall 2013, an EMP attack on the West would most likely use nuclear devices detonated at a sufficient altitude to disrupt electronic transmissions at key locations. Now, confirmation that such an attack is not only plausible but is most likely being planned is coming from several sources. Lt. Col. Even the most intense and widespread surveillance and intelligence network could not cover all possibilities of such weapons being transported and used in an EMP attack. We are reaching the limits of our defenses. The age of great armies and conventional warfare has yielded to a new kind of conflict. Picadillo, you have been beating the conspiracy drum for as long as I've been on the forum. I have to concede, finally, that you are right -the downfall of everything is being carefully orchestrated. But I also believe that it is being done by a powerful few who are completely sold out to the enemy and working globally. Especially in the U.S., when decisions by those in power make no sense, you can bet someone much, much higher is pulling the strings. you are correct Kathy but I still say don't let the Russians fool you because I still believe that those high up in charge in all these nations are still just puppets on a string to the invisible hand. It is not different in politics either especially in the 2 party system here in the US. They are not really two parties and all serve the same masters....those who hold the money.
