We are living through a great crisis of civilization and great disorientation in the church and the temptation to doubt and despair is all too real - I have believed in Garabandal since my early twenties and I am now 60 years old so I have been waiting a long time for the prophesied events - I did not expect to get to 2024 and the events still to happen. But God's timing is all too different from our timing - we have quite a myopic sense of time whilst we live on earth - What wonderful example we have in the Old Testament in Simeon and Anna who waited patiently for the coming of the Lord - Simeon was in the twilight of his life but had been promised that he would not see death before the coming of the Messiah. He remained faithful to God and held the Christ-Child in his arms and thus he has been called the God-receiver. Anna the prophetess likewise was faithful to God we are told 'she was of a great age, having been widowed after a seven-year marriage and was now eighty-four. She never left the Temple, but worshiped with fasting and prayer night and day'. She too received the Christ-child in her arms. Simeon took the baby in his arms and blessed God with these words: “Now, Master, you are dismissing your servant in peace, just as you said. These eyes of mine have seen your salvation, which you made ready in the presence of all peoples: a light for revelation to the nations, and glory for your people Israel.” Both Simeon and Anna remained faithful into their old age - let us do likewise remaining faithful to praying our daily Rosary.
Beautiful admonition and reminder. Thank you! We just celebrated St. Patrick who said: I pray to God to give me perseverance and to deign that I be a faithful witness to Him to the end of my life for my God.
To encourage us, consider that in corrupt Canada, there is a new convent being built by the Queenship of Mary community, near the country’s capital, Ottawa. It is growing in vocations, mostly young women. It is dedicated to prayer for priests, and renewing devotion to Our Lady of the Cape. The foundress, Mother Mary Bernadette, was a secular 47 year old business woman when she received the call to return to Christ, and later, to begin the order. She received miraculous healings at Lourdes. The order promotes the Louis de Montfort 33 days of Consecration to Jesus through Mary. Their patrons are St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Therese of Avila. https://www.queenshipofmary.ca/about
The people I see at Mass each day cheer me up a lot. Good devout Catholic people doing their best. Some of them, I suspect very Holy indeed. My hat goes off to anyone getting to Daily Mass everyday and saying the rosary is wonderful I think. There is so much against it. My concern for them would be when the filth from Rome filters down to them they will be in big, big trouble. I think most people have do idea what is going on. Also of course my local Traditional Church may very well be closed down which would be horrible. It is the priests and Bishops who more concern me. Padre Pio's words, 'Pray, hope and don't worry', are a great source of consolation. After all what else can we do? Just pray, hope and trust.
Thank you Garabandal. I think the forum needed these words at this time. We must remember, we await! Watching and praying. For this valley of tears is not our home, we are on a pilgrimage to our real eternal home. Come Lord Jesus.
May Saint Simeon and Saint Anna be our model for remaining faithful in these dark times and May God grant us all the grace of final perseverance Amen
I drove up many small, dark and winding country roads for Easter Thursday Mass to a little country Church on a hill called Galbally for Holy Thursday Mass. There has been flooding warnings for the last three days, very, very heavy rain, freezing temps and a sudden heavy fall of snow in the morning. My computer guided me and my heart was in my mouth in case it stopped asI hadn't the slightest clue were I was. Quite a lot of traffic on the roads in spite of the dark but the country people are very polite and pullover to the side to let other cars pass. Thank God the Church was very well heated the radiators blasting away with a very good crowd present despite the horrific weather. Avery old but very Holy priest said the Mass. No choir and a small hurch meanta very pareddownLiturgy but I'd not mind as I never quite thought I'd make it with the flooding. I have not really attended a full Tridium for soma years due to shift hospital work and am greatly enjoying the novelty. It seems to be the consensus of the church fathers that any Catholic who fails to attend the Easter Liturgy is no longer a Believer.we call this the Easter Duty. I loved the little bells being rung.Missed the hymns. I love to sing. What struck me most what Jesus said about Judas, better that he had not been born.I don't think there is any real doubt that the guy is in hell. Certainly previous generations of Catholics had no doubts. He spent three years in Seminary in the company of Jesus and Mary and still he kept thieving. Modernist Catholics like to believe Judas was saved because they don't believe in the reality of sin, evil or hell.Everythings going to be alright, everyone's allrightandallthere Isis bad choices. Papa Frankie is the best example of this as he has a picture of the RisenJesusgivingJudas a big hug on the wall behind him in his office.
Kind of like where the bible says in the end times what is good will be bad and what is bad will be good. Yes I was at Mass last night at Holy Thursday. I did not make it to Good Friday Service because we had company. Good friends of our who lost a son last year this month, he died in his sleep, 45 years old. They are really grieving and needed comforting today. But I was able to do a Holy Hour after Mass last night . . .will go to the Vigil tomorrow night when we welcome in new converts. And I can get a couple bottles of water blessed to use for Holy Water . . .I have a plan for them already. Or a scheme or whatever you want to call it. We have thunderstorms coming in tonight and maybe a little snow next week. But things are coming to life, daffodils are blooming and the dandelions are up.
