I totally agree Mario RE divisive content. Even thought, let's be honest, most of the time I agree with Voris in principle, his approach is dangerous: point the finger and gently chip away at the credibility of the institution he claims to love.
Using terms like "thugs" is uncharitable at best, and dangerously disrespectful at worst. In an apparition (can't remember which one) Jesus spoke of his utter pain caused by those who slander priests, even priests who were not good.
Voris needs to cool the rhetoric and remember that you attract more with honey than vinegar.

Mario my post has nothing to do with VORIS. I have NO idea how he stands on the issue. Cardinal Dolan made OPEN REMARKS on camera, nothing im saying is from a confession or private conversation. What im commenting on was on The World Over on EWTN 8pm last nite...when its posted to youtube I will link it here. ive kept my thoughts to myself for months on this issue about LGBT marching in the St Patricks Day parade for the first time, thinking something would change or work itself out.The Cardinal/Prince of the Church made his comments with many microphones before him and before cameras, for the world to hear so with due respect ,Detraction does not apply here !

    Mario,
I'm not trying to pick a fight with anyone here but ...:
    1) I believe that most of US have been called to this site and other Christian sites because we "feel" that "Conditions" are Dire and We are in the Gravest Extreme!
    2) If the majority of our Church Prelates and Civic Leaders were doing their "Jobs" we wouldn't be in the Horrific ... Sex Scandal, ISIS, Abortion, Sexual Perversion/Pornography, Welfare State, Iran, Fiscal/Moral Bankruptcy, Apostasy-n-Falling Away ... @&%$#* MESS that the Planet is mired in.
    3) The Church of Jesus Christ was not founded for the benefit of preening political prelates in New York, Rome or Outer Slobovia! It was designed to get Thee & Me to Heaven!
    4) I'm not an expert on Canon Law or the Megisterium of the Church ... nor do I want to be ... but I'm guessing that NO WHERE in the above does it stipulate that the Laity/Members of the Church are required to stand silent when there is obvious clerical malfeasance and the flouting of Holy Scripture or 6000 years of Human Tradition. I don't believe that Pope Paul VI was making idle chatter about the "Smoke of Satan" in the Vatican or Popes in the past 150 years stating that ... satan be Coming and bringing Hell with him!!
    5) I don't believe Voris is in the same league as Old Testament Prophets or John Baptist who, also, were discounted/reviled in their time ... but "What the %$#* do I know" .. or anybody else here for that matter!!!
GOD GRANT DISCERNMENT & SALVATION TO ALL HERE!!!

I really hope this referendum doesn't pass. The debate so far has been very biased. What is worrying is that if it passes then marriage between a man and a woman will no longer be seen as superior to all other unions, it will be on par with same-sex marriage in the Constitution and there will be no differentiation given to it in terms of importance.

I heard the polls are 75% in favour, very depressing.

Something tells me that even if it does go through it won't be around for very long because there are big changes on the way in the world.

I didn't hear this myself but was informed by a member of the NO campaign that on RTE Radio 1 today, Enda Kenny confirmed that if the marriage amendment is passed, Catholic schools will be required to teach children that marriage is between ANY two people, not a man and a woman. Keep praying and, if possible, support the NO campaign in any way you can: http://mothersandfathersmatter.org

    Hi Crew Dog,
With all due respect to this "bishop" of the "church" of Ireland, he has about as much authority and power as my pet dog with a mitre at halloween

Poor Ireland.. what will become of her? ..this brings to mind The Prophecies attributed to St. Patrick
after reading this distressing article below:

"A Limerick-based Augustinian priest has revealed that he will be breaking with ranks on May 22nd and voting Yes in the upcoming Marriage Equality referendum."

"Fr Iggy O'Donovan said his decision came after years of pastoral work with young gay people in his church.

Speaking to The Irish Times, Fr O'Donovan said: “It is possible to have deep and passionately-held convictions without seeking to have those convictions imposed by the State on fellow citizens who do not share them”.

He added: “respect for the freedom of others who differ from us is part and parcel of the faith we profess. For these and for other reasons I will be voting Yes”.

His comments come in the wake of statements made by Bishop Kevin Doran earlier this week. Bishop Doran, speaking to Newstalk, said: “Some people perhaps have a predisposition genetically to being gay; perhaps in some cases people are gay because of contexts, circumstances related to their own experience of life as young people."

Bishop Kevin Doran, who is advocating a No vote, admitted to struggling with his own sexuality in his teens

“One of the things I would suggest also from my own experience working as a university chaplain would be that many young people in their late teens are confused about their sexuality, understandably I think. I’d have to say I was myself.”

Bishop Doran is advocating a No vote in the upcoming referendum."

You might as well just open the floodgates and let in every seedy enterprise, abortion, euthanasia etc...

after all this is modern times; we must keep up with the Joneses; least we be exiled -or- better yet: martyred for the truth.. best to play it safe and cushy... Just unbelievable.. to put it mildly.

    To generalize -

    "Gay rights"
    Don't you mean sinful rights!

Taken from the above article -

    "respect for the freedom"

What freedom is there in sin?

    "imposed"

Do you not realize you and others of the same mind-set are helping to open up that very door that shell be imposed on you.

“Some people perhaps have a predisposition genetically to being gay; perhaps in some cases people are gay
because of contexts, circumstances related to their own experience of life as young people."

And so say it many a murderer, paedophile, thief, bully etc...

Pray for this priest and others; that they may see the error of their ways, and they may lead others with the light of God. Please!

    God bless you!

I pray the rosary every day that this referendum will be defeated. Please pray. There is nothing else we can do as it is pressure from all sides and a vicious anti Christian media constantly twisting the words of those who try and defend marriage.
    Pray pray pray

I second that, and would add that fasting, if possible, is also needed; I have a feeling that this is the kind that can only be cast out by prayer and fasting.
