So the top 3 names people always ask about are listed below, and the reason they are disqualified, as per the criteria Conchita gave us. "In September of 1963, some French people were invited to eat dinner with Conchita in a house near the girl's home. She was devouring pastries with the healthy appetite of girls of her age. Someone jokingly asked her about the sacrifices and penance mentioned in the message. Conchita accepted the joke in good humor and laughed. But suddenly she became quiet and seemed to concentrate; her face lit up; and with her hands joined on her chest, she began to speak: “The Miracle will be on the feast day of a young martyr of the Eucharist, a boy who carried Communion to persecuted Christians. “His companions, on seeing him pass by, wanted to force him to stay and take part in their games. Infuriated by his resistance, they ended up hurling stones at him until he was left almost dead. Later a Christian soldier came, who recognized him and carried him in his arms." 1. Saint Tarcisius The problem with Saint Tarcisius is his feast day is August 15. (The Miracle is in April) Unless the Church changes his date. #2. St. Hermenegild: Several possible problems with St. Hermenegild, who by some accounts was Spanish, and Conchita said the martyr saint was not Spanish. We have no idea how old he was, though he was a grown, married man leading a revolt, so it would not have been clear to her that this was "a young martyr , a boy who carried the Eucharist " and also he does not fit the description Conchita gave us of the boy. #3. St. Stanislaus: April 11 is the feast day of St. Stanislaus, but he was the Bishop of Kracow who was martyred while celebrating Mass 49 YEARS OLD ! He does not fit the description Conchita gave us of a boy. And yes I know there is another 17 year old St. Stainuslaus: He died in the early morning hours of Aug. 15, 1568, so his feast day is not in April either.
SILVIO LEONTI PASSED ON MAY 9,2014 I just wanted to remember a good friend and volunteer co-worker who passed away on this day. Silvio Leonti and his wife Rachel ran the New York Garabandal Center for 40 years ! Silvio and Rachel devoted almost half their life to this apostolate . Silvio was 90 when he passed. He always had a smile. Remember him today in your prayers, as a devoted ,tireless worker, for our Blessed Mother, for Joey Lomangino, and for the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel de Garabandal apostolate.
3 Girls went into convents. Many people have commented over the years “ Why didn’t the girls go into the religious life, become Nuns after the apparitions ? Most people don’t know that actually 3 of the 4 girls did enter convents ! Conchita, Jacinta, and Mari Loli did for a short time, then left for different reasons, and became boarding students instead. Mary Cruz did not go at all. On February 7,1966 Conchita (on her 17th birthday) enters the Discalced Carmelites Missionaries of Pamplona. On February 13,1966 she has a locution from Jesus. Jesus said to Conchita: “ I choose you in the world, that is, in the normal condition of the faithful, so that you would remain in it. “ Both Jacinta and Mari Loli were 16 at the time they decided to enter a convent. On September 30, 1965 they left for the Sisters of Charity of St. Ann, in the Aragon town of Borja. I guess our Lord had other plans and vocations for the girls, to remain in the world, and not hidden away in a convent. How else would we know all that we do about the apparitions and messages. PADRE PIO SEES THE MIRACLE BEFORE HIS DEATH & CONCHITA IS GIVEN GIFTS BY HIM. When Conchita found out Padre Pio died in Sept. 1968, she met his close friend, Father Bernardino Cennamo, at Lourdes, and asked him, "How is it that Our Lady told me Padre Pio would see the Miracle and he has died?" Father Cenammo responded, "Padre Pio saw the Miracle before he died. He told me himself." The priest gave Conchita one of the three veils that covered Padre Pio's face during his wake, saying that the stigmatist had requested this before he died. He told her truthfully that he personally did not believe in the authenticity of Garabandal until Padre Pio requested this of him. Conchita also was given Padre Pio's rosary, and one of the gloves he wore, stained by his stigmata. She has these treasures preserved at her home in New York. MARY PREDICTED : GARABANDAL PROMOTED WITH PERMISSION She predicted that one day Garabandal would be promoted, with the permission of the Church. "She will give time for the Message to be spread with the permission of the Church." [Garcia de Pesquera, Eusebio , from “ She Went In Haste To The Mountain” , pg 207 In 1965, in response to those eager to spread the message of Garabandal, Conchita writes; "This is agreeable to the Blessed Virgin. She is very pleased to have us work to spread the message. That is what She wants. But she wants us to obey the Church, for in this way we will give greater glory to God. She will provide time for the message to be spread with the permission of the Church." “SHE WENT IN HASTE TO THE MOUNTAIN” Pope Paul VI granted the Apostolic Blessing to the work of diffusion or promulgation of the Garabandal messages on June 12th, 1967.
Since we are celebrating “Mother’s Day" in America today, I thought I would post 2 of my favorite stories about Mother Mary. Mary: “our Mother” August 1961 “Our Lady has come on the earth one more time because she is a Mother not only for the visionaries and for a few chosen souls, but for the whole world. One day the children in ecstasy recited the rosary under the Virgin’s direction and said, “Holy Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, pray for us sinners.” “She went in haste to the mountain”, Book 1, page 163 (Note: Our Lady told the Visionaries that she liked it very much but told them it should not be used publicly unless it was approved by the Church) Conchita said : “Many times the Virgin Mary didn't look directly at us but further away, at the people who were behind us. Her face changed sometimes, but she never stopped smiling. I asked her: -Who are you looking at? She replied, “- I'm looking at my children.” How blessed we all are to have a Heavenly mother who loves us so much ! Happy Mother’s day to all here.
TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY May 13, 1967 The Archbishop of Madrid, Casimiro Morcillo Gonzalez , issued a letter on May 13,1967, to the Bishop of Tacna in Peru, five days after the death of Bishop of Santandar Puchol Montis, stated : “ The apparitions of Garabandal are a confirmation of those at Fatima fifty years ago. The Virgin Mary came once more to insist in Spain what she had already told three shepherds at the Cova da Iria : The bitter cup is not only filled , it is spilling over”. I personally see a great parallel between Fatima and Garabandal. The children saw the Virgin at the exclusion of others. The Virgin smiled at them. She promised them Heaven. She asked that they spread her message of the Rosary, penance and prayers for sinners. “ If there is a small difference in the last message, it is precisely its great clarity and the extent to which it admonishes the faithful, priests, and even Bishops. “ “There are therefore, sufficient reasons for the Holy Father Pope Paul VI to tell Conchita during their meeting of January 19,1966: “Conchita I bless you and with me the entire Church blesses you.” The phrase evidences the concern on the part of the Holy Father for the ruin that is sought to be introduced into the Church via false reforms.” And the Bishop of Tacna who relayed this to the Secretary of the Apostolic Papal Nuncio in Lima, added: “ Personally I suggest to your reverence that the events of Garabandal contribute to the enrichment of those of Fatima”. The First Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima, Portugal, May 13, 1917 GARABANDAL & FATIMA I feel ,as many do, that Garabandal is the continuation of Fatima. At Garabandal, Saint Michael first appeared to the visionaries in the evening (8:30 P.M.) of June 18, 1961, exactly 40 years to the day as Fatima’s Lucia on her last day in Aljustrel before leaving for the convent school. That evening, having left her home and paying a last visit to the Cova da Iria, she is said to have seen Our Lady standing at a spot now occupied by the lower steps of the Basilica. In the sixth apparition at Fatima on October 13, 1917, during the tableaux of visions during the Miracle of the Sun, Our Lady appeared as Our Lady of Mount Carmel with the scapular on her wrist. (Little known fact, the Sun also danced in October of 1972 at Garabandal) On July 2, 1961, the Virgin appeared at Garabandal as Our Lady of Mount Carmel with a large brown scapular draped over her right arm. Both ended on the 13th day of a month. When Our Lady appeared at Fatima in 1917 she did something she had not done before: she addressed messages specifically to the entire world. While she appeared again after Fatima at Beauraing (1932-33) and Banneux (1933), she did not speak to the world at either of those places. But at Garabandal we again find this universal appeal. Although Fatima and Garabandal are separate events there is continuity in the revelations and similarities in features of the events not found among the other visits of Our Lady during the Marian Age. It is interesting to note that the 3rd secret was supposed to be released after 1960, and when it was not, Mary appeared at Garabandal in 1961. See how the world did not heed Mary's Fatima warnings, so she stated them more profoundly at Garabandal.

Conchita González interview October, 1968 Q. We have heard that some say the Warning may be a natural phenomenon but will be used by God to speak to mankind. Is this true? A. The Warning is something supernatural and will not be explained by science. It will be seen and felt. Q. Conchita, can you explain the statement that during the Warning we will know ourselves and the sins we have committed? A. The Warning will be a correction of the conscience of the world. Q. What about the many people who do not know Christ; how will they understand the Warning?. A. For those who do not know Christ (non-Christians), they will believe it is a Warning from God. TODAY IN GARABANDAL HISTORY: MAY 17,2011 With her permission, I reprint a letter from Conchita to the present pastor of the village of Garabandal, Padre Rolando, to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the apparitions 1961-2011. ------------------------------- AVE MARIA May 17, 2011 Dear Father Rolando, I join with you in the celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the events of Garabandal. It is for me fifty years of contemplating the most beautiful thing in the world. I give thanks to God for having been a part of those experiences, impossible to describe adequately, but which have pressed upon my soul the secure assurance of faith and hope. I thank you, Father Rolando, for granting me the opportunity to recite the Message of Our Mother in the village yet again. [ October 18,1961-We must make many sacrifices, perform much penance, and visit the Blessed Sacrament frequently. But first, we must lead good lives. If we do not, a chastisement will befall us. The cup is already filling up, and if we do not change, a very great chastisement will come upon us.] The Angel said: As my message of October 18 has not been complied with and has not been made known to the world, I am advising you that this is the last one. Before, the cup was filling up. Now it is flowing over. Many cardinals, many bishops and many priests are on the road to perdition and are taking many souls with them. Less and less importance is being given to the Eucharist. You should turn the wrath of God away from yourselves by your efforts. If you ask His forgiveness with sincere hearts, He will pardon you. I, your mother, through the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, ask you to amend your lives. You are now receiving the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Pray to us with sincerity and we will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Think about the passion of Jesus. Mission of Divine Mercy, released a new message today. In it Our Blessed Mother mentions Conchita (and the others) by name. She gave the message to Sister Amapola on Monday, the Anniversary of Fatima. Lets remember one undeniable FACT. If GOD ALMIGHTY wants to bring the "Warning " & " Miracle" spoken about in Garabandal, then there is NOTHING on earth that can stop him, nor stop people from experiencing it and believing it no matter what the Vatican says ,or doesn't say. Are you telling me that if you experience both events, as Mary predicted, you won't believe because the Local Bishop didn't approve it as true ? Nonsense. None of this matters.
May 18, (1920) - Saint Pope John Paul II Birthday ! Pope John Paul II & Garabandal. During a special general audience with the Pope at the Vatican ... "special" because it was held on Saturday, rather than the usual Wednesday... Father Robert introduced Garabandal Visionary Mari-Loli and family to him. Father Robert who was holding 7 year old Maria Dolores, one of the three Lafleur children, said to the Pope: "Your Holiness, a special blessing for your littlest children who come on behalf of The Blessed Virgin from Garabandal."
