We may well all end up learning the rights and wrongs of this conflict on Judgement Day. Let us pray that God will disallow mankind from arbitratorship of world's end (I don't believe He will allow this to happen-the end of the world is a moment He will reserve to Himself).
I agree. God writes the script no matter how much these petty leaders "strut and fret their hour upon the stage and then are seen no more" God always has the last Word.
To understand Ukraine better, think about Ireland https://www.ncronline.org/opinion/guest-voices/understand-ukraine-better-think-about-ireland
I agree . I do not watch mainstream news and I follow a few reputable people, because I will have no peace from the distractions. People inundate themselves with the news, the excitement, the distractions....from the media..which they believe . The truth is hard to find so only through prayer will we find peace to get through the day.
I am the same. We do not have a TV, and when the news come on in the car on the radio, I switch channels instantly. I do not read newspapers, either. I stay informed by following selected internet news sites, choosing these very carefully. This way, I can avoid all the propaganda and keep peace of mind and soul.
I nearly always read a Holy Book before I go to sleep. When I wake up in the middle of the night it is a time for prayer. When I wake up in the morning and check I am always pleased if my very first thoughts are of God and the things of God and as far as I can tell they nearly always are. During the day I try to keep focussed on God and if my thoughts stray,as they often do I hustle them back like a heard of sheep to where they should be. I have observed that only in God is found true happiness and that is a big, big incentive on keeping them fixed. Also down the years my heart has gravitated to were God mostly is my only real interest so my thoughts and heart circle like a little planet around the sun of his love. I find my biggest distraction at the moment is in sleep where I tend to get the most terrible nightmares. But I do get distracted. As St Teresa says better to gently shepherd your thoughts back to where they should be. You can't force too much. Basically I think your thoughts go were your heart is. Life is so passing, so much of what we see is a a deceit or an illusion. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21
There is an essential difference. If Ireland had threatened, in 1944, to allow German V1's and V2's on Irish soil, with an implicit threat to British territory and accompanied with a promise to be a member of the Axis Alliance, I don't think the Irish could have complained if the British had launched a pre-emptive invasion. As the Americans showed in 1962, it is even more of a threat when nuclear weapons are involved.
The media of all kinds are now full of lies. From all sides. We must await the Day of Judgement for the big reveal. It will be a Day of Awe and Terror...but it certainly won't be dull and boring.
This article makes me think that the Catholic church is currently on team Whore of Babylon. Pro-Ukraine, pro-NATO without mentioning anything regarding the past. Maidan revolution, the stuff DeGaulle mentioned... etc. This is why I try to interpret events through the prophets and the bible only. The propaganda is through the roof, and many of these people spreading it often don't know who they are fighting for. They just pick a side and throw the context out the window.
Many differences, I just linked you this article because you brought here the Irish case to compare. But I still think is a good term to compare regarding to the local Catholic Church situation.
