There are some great speakers lined up for the Divine Mercy Conference in Dublin this year, incl. Fr Pat Collins, Frances Hogan, Sr Briege McKenna... It's on 20-21 Feb in the RDS. This year is the Jubilee year of the conference (25 year anniversary) and it is also the Jubilee Year of Mercy so all the more reason to go!

Yes, all booked. The Conference is sort of the highlight of my year nowadays!

Didn't know exactly where to post this but since it had Divine Mercy in it I thought it might reach those who are interested.

I just walked through the Door of Mercy at St.Peter's Basillica and brought all prayers and petitions from this website with me. I was able to go to confession and then mass also. It was quite a moving experience and feel very blessed to have done so. I also threw myself at the tomb of St. Jude for good measure!!

If you ever have the chance to go to St Peters, you can go back to the sacristy to have masses said for loved ones, and if you have an empty bottle of some sort they will fill it with holy water for you.

The Christmas crèche and tree were still up and everything was very well lit. It was very beautiful but verrrry cold.

As I was leaving the Basillica the 6:00 pm Angelus was piped in so that everyone on the outside could hear it. It sounded like Pope Francis but I couldn't tell if it was live or recorded. Everyone stopped where they were while it was being said-- and the words were in different languages on the telecam outside. Very moving.

Tomorrow I will try to get to St. John Lateran and Santa Maria Maggiore.

Please God I will make it to the conference, but I am unlikely to be able to make both days. Which day is best for this prayerful get together?

You would probably get most out of the Saturday if you can only do one day. That's when the "meatiest" talks happen and there is a healing service in the evening which goes on quite late and is worth being there for.

As Border Collie suggested, a few of us might even manage to meet up. Maybe we can arrange something closer to the time. It would be great to put faces on names at last!

    Thanks for that.
Apparently there will be a free 'youth' event in the RDS on the Friday evening including Mass, Confessions, Adoration - much more than that I don't know, but it was from a reliable source.
I think I will try to get some of my girls to that and then just me on Saturday - please God.

Yes, there is an opening Mass at 8pm on the Friday. I didn't know it was a youth event though, that's great if it is.

When we see who from the forum is attending closer to the time we should try to arrange a meet-up!

  10. Sat is the best day for meeting up, Sunday can be a bit of a rush with people trying to get home etc

    Thanks for the prayers.

If you can you should call into the Purgatory Musem, it is within walking distance of St Peters.

I have visited the Purgatory Museum in the Church of the Sacred Heart. It is very small but includes powerfull stories with photos showing burn marks that seem hard to explain!

Lucky you, when I got there it was closed...Next Time!1

Rome is beautiful and so homely, I am jealous.

Except for July and August (when it is unbearably hot and crowded with tourists) Rome is my favorite city to layover in. There is always something to do or see. I leave for there this evening, and a priest friend of mine got me a ticket to the mass at St. Peter's for the Feast of the Presentation which the pope is presiding over on February 2. Although I have been to mass there many times-- I have never been to one when the pope was the celebrant. I am looking forward to being in St. Peter's when all of the lights are on as it is always so dark in there.! I will surly bring with me all intentions from the MOG site. I do consider it a privilege to be among such "Catholic" people! Thanks, Padrig for making this site possible.
