An especially moving video and accompanying music:

The Holy Spirit has, as of Monday, guided me to devoting myself to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. It has instantly relieved burdens (family & personal issues), has bestowed an additional level of peace.

Troubles, anxieties, etc., I envision as literally being placed inside His Heart for healing, solutions, etc. And then I let go.

That is really interesting DesertStar, I began devoting myself to the Sacred heart of Jesus a few months ago. Many people seem to be mentioning it and are beginning devotions to the Sacred Heart lately it seems. A close friend also began a devotion. I wonder what the significance of it is?

    Interesting.

I've not given a lot of conscious thought as to why I've been thusly drawn (I simply "go with the Guidance flow"), but am certain part of it is it's a new and refreshing approach / way of interacting with Christ for me.

There is nothing similar in Protestantism (and their ways of focusing on Jesus went stale for me years ago).

For me, it's like being reintroduced to Christ in an entirely new way. It's romantic (in the poetic sense), mystical, warm...wonderful.

We were praying the Sacred Heart Novena at the end of Fr. Heilman's 54 day novena. I wonder if Jesus used this to draw people to His Sacred Heart?

I have a life long devotion to the Sacred Heart. When I visit the Blessed Sacrament I am particularly drawn to this devotion. When I was growing up we had an image of the Sacred Heart and I have always had one in my own home through the years. I am so glad others are being drawn to Him this way. Truly I believe this is what He wants. He has attached many promises to this devotion.

Thank you, Sam. :) If you can manage it, I should be able to. I'll fiddle a bit more to figure it out.

I too have had a devotion to the Sacred Heart for many years and have had my home consecrated. I also wear the Sacred Heart Scapular to Mass on Friday’s and we have a small group that pray the Sacred Heart Novena every Friday after the Mass.

I didn't know there was such a thing.

Someone earlier this week mentioned a St. Michael Scapular.

I've been under the (wrong) impression of only Brown and Green Scapulars.

I will definitely get a Sacred Heart Scapular.

    Thanks for mentioning it.

    I always love this,

'Behold this Heart that has so loved men'.

Jesus revealed to St. Margaret Mary of Alacoque 12 promises to those who practice devotion to His Sacred Heart:
    1. I will give them all the graces necessary for their state of life.
    2. I will establish peace in their families.
    3. I will console them in all their troubles.
    4. They shall find in My Heart an assured refuge during life and especially at the hour of their death.
    5. I will pour abundant blessings on all their undertakings.
    6. Sinners shall find in My Heart the source of an infinite ocean of mercy.
    7. Tepid souls shall become fervent.
    8. Fervent souls shall speedily rise to great perfection.
    9. I will bless the homes where an image of My Heart shall be exposed and honored.
    10. I will give to priests the power of touching the most hardened hearts.
    11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their names written in My Heart, never to be effaced.
    12. The all-powerful love of My Heart will grant to all those who shall receive Communion on the First Friday of nine consecutive months the grace of final repentance; they shall not die under my displeasure, nor without receiving their Sacraments; My heart shall be their assured refuge at that last hour.

St Margaret Mary's surname is pronounced AlocoKAY.
    As in OK.

    Folks always get this wrong.

Not that it matters. I am an old crank, I like to get it right.:)

It the same with Lourdes Our Lady did not say , 'Je suis la Immaculee Conception', she actually spoke in the French local dialect spoken in Lourdes at the time.

It amounts to the same thing. But I am a crank and can't help mentioning it.:D:D

Is it any wonder my dogs try to bite me?.:D:D

Dr Miravelle is a theologian at Steubenville Franciscan University. He is totally Orthodox and totally into mystical stuff. He has pumped out a whole wide range of stuff on the web. He is very widely read and trustworthy.

If you ever want a question answered I would go to him on utube. He is totally trustworthy.

Except he does not know how to pronounce St Margaret Mary Alocoque. Why are my dogs trying to bite me?:D:D

So many modern Catholic Theologians will lead you straight to hell.
It must be on some kind of job description.

    The Jesuits are especially wicked.

So if you happen to find a good one , Treasure him.

Here is a good Jesuit (yes there are some..somewhere). He is dead now but on the road to sainthood. He got persecuted his entire life, like Padre Pio for his dedication to the truth.

    sigh.

I wish our Bishops were a bit more like dogs. I wish they would bark and bite and fight. I wish they would go crazy when they saw evil. As the Spanish say, I wish they had some, 'Cojones'.

If I were Pope I would make my dogs Cardinals. They know who's who and what's what and know what to do about it.

Our Bishops on the whole don't. Oh what I would give to see an angry Bishop! They have forgotten how to be angry.

At the moment they should be totally out of their minds with rage. There is nothing wrong with occasionally giving someone a good punch in the face in the good cause.;):)

Some hope. Most Bishops. the best I can ever hope for is an irritated shrug.

I would be over joyed if I saw at least a little anger. I never ever do; never mind punches.

It's like looking at a long line of Purple clad Teddy Bears. They could at least have tried to strangle the child molesting priests.
