China is blaming the virus on the wet markets and the eating of wild animals. However, Wuhan has at least one bio-weapon laboratory. Perhaps the laboratory let something escape and the government knows the destruction it has unleashed. We may never know the truth, but like padraig says, I do know that we are being lied to like crazy.
Between the wet markets and the sheer size and population of Wuhan, if it was an escaped virus from a lab, it would be the most ideal huge scale Petri dish in the world for this type of virus.
I watched a little documentary this morning on the Spanish flu of 1918 which killed may between 50 to 100 million people. It centred on the American City of Philedelphia and made me as a Catholic very, very proud indeed. Th Catholic Church had a HUGE role in helping out. For instance Catholic priests went with the police to collect the dead and assist they dying. Catholic properties thrown over and open to help. Catholic priests and nuns taking huge risks to assist the dying. It just made me so proud to be Catholic and I am sure this Catholic help went on all over the world back then. Sts Jacinta and Francesco of Fatima died of the 1918 flu . It was the same with the Black Plague, which like the so called Spanish Flu actually came from China. ..Catholics were on the very front line helping out.
so I have been watching closely as a nurse....here are some thoughts China is lying about the death rate and disease rate and this is evident by quarantine of cities I have seen VPN videos of doctors and nurses having nervous breakdowns because of the volume of victims and the lack of government support Many medical personnel are wearing adult diapers due to the inability to use the bathrooms with the surge of patients People are seizing and dying in front of their eyes. The incubation period is up to 14 days with no symptoms and contagious at that time The start date of the disease seems to be December 25 Look at the number of victims in just one month's time Many people have zero symptoms but present with overwhelming pneumonia which is what kills them N95 masks are not completely effective but helpful Due to the long incubation period many victims are being tested around the world who originated from Wuhan at the beginning of the epidemic No victims have died as of yet outside of China The Army has been sent in to build triage tents for treatment. the US is sending in a plane to airlift citizens and dignitaries The UK is thinking of doing the same The R0 of corona virus has been estimated to be 3%...if stats are correct however impossible to know The R0(contagian rate) for H1N1 flu is 1.48 and Spanish flu 1.8 The WHO has been back peddling because China is a communist country and won't step on it's sovereign toes.

Purely a coincidence I am sure but my MIL is in a rehab / assisted care facility after being hospitalized for a viral infection which started about 6 weeks ago and then turned into extreme dehydration and pneumonia. My FIL got it as well and is now on his second round of treatment after it returned a few weeks after finishing the first round. She has a very compromised immune system and ended up in the Hospital and now a rehab center to recover but her symptoms have turned for the worse again and she is now quarantined at the facility. We are not allowed to visit her nor is her husband. I've never seen a facility do this sort of thing. They won't let anyone past the front station and are making all residents take meals in their rooms and have closed all of the commons areas. We have to leave all items for her at the front desk. I have to admit the timing of this with the news out of China and knowing that this virus has an incubation period which makes it pretty much impossible to identify the origins of seems a bit more than a coincidence. In this area, we have a massive amount of people who travel to cities in China for work. I am not saying it is the same thing but it was a surprise to be informed we would not be allowed to visit her.

Sounds like a creepy coincidence but on the other hand a bad respiratory virus/pneumonia can spread through a rehab residence like a brush fire. They may just be taking very careful precautions. I hope that is all it is Don. I will pray for your family.
many people suspect this was a bioweapon that was accidentally released, but most believe it originated from China bio lab although I have seen the article on the Chinese nationals in Canada who were escorted out of the lab for sending things to China. If it is a bioweapon, it will be far more contagious and dangerous as they can add neurological features to the virus. For instance, many videos have been shown of people standing in the streets and suddenly dropping face first as if dead. This is why the neurological feature is suspect. But in reality, if you are drowning in your own fluids with pneumonia, you will do the same. Many victims also have been seen seizing prior to death. Now these could also be febrile seizures, septic shock seizures or seizures brought on by Sodium imbalance from the disease effects on the kidney. Of course a first world country would release this info but good luck with China. We can all watch and play Monday Morning quarterback with no real data.
