AED, you are so thoughtful We in Md are on high alert Our governor just declared a state of emergency No one knows the exact track yet It is niw cat 3 or 4 The landfall might be outer banks of North Carolina The storm is forecast to sit and spin and bring rainfall totals in the tens and twenties Depending on track of storm we might get some wind and rain and falling trees On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday So we do not know yet We are preparing for loss of power Praying for people in the path of the storm Praying for best possible outcome This all comes at the end of a very wet summer It’s a chastisement for sure ! Thank you Not sure about Long Island Not sure about anyone on forum in Carolinas and Virginia
You will be in my Rosary tonight along with everyone bracing for this. Do you have the prayer against storms? Piers prayerbook. I’ll dig it out and pray it. I saw a thunderstorm —electrical—stop cold after this prayer was said. That was in 1981 but I don’t think it’s shelf life is over. God bless and stay safe! Holy Angels protect you.
I know what you meant I do have prayers against storms And thank you for testifying that they work lol Thank you so much and God bless you AED
St Mary of Seven Sorrow's in downtown Nashville. We still have our alter rails and we use them at every Mass and our Holy Tabernacle is dead center (East) and our priest faces the Tabernacle during consecration. Our first Bishop some years ago was exhumed and his body was found to be incorruptible...his tomb is right in front of the confessional. Please visit if passing threw..
Thank you, Don I keep turning my anxiety over to the Lord I think we’ll be prepared by the time it gets here
I did a websearch for that church because in the unlikely event that I visit the US again, I would like to see Nashville. There's a short video posted on Facebook showing the inside of the church. I can't remember whether the video was posted on the church's FB page or some other page but I'm sure you should be able to find it. Not wanting to take this thread off topic, but I wonder how elderly priests would manage if Communion rails were re-introduced.
Maybe they can remain at one place on that altar rail, communicants can line up, each one kneel and receive in front of the priest and then leave Like now, only kneeling at altar rail
At the Mass I go to there is one priest in the confessional and one saying the Mass. When the time comes to receive the faithful the priest who was hearing confessions comes out in vestments and helps.
Or maybe only about 3-4 people kneel at any one time next to one another, and this would save time in the movement of people, while the priest would only have to take a few steps back and forth to distribute Communion.
