Closing Churches and stopping the Mass is of course a Total Abomination.

They will have to answer for this at the Last Judgement, the lot of them.

    This is precisely the problem.
    No Faith.

“when the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on earth?”

Although I just wish Bishop Schneider would do something instead of talk.

    Zechariah 11:17

Woe to the worthless shepherd that leaveth the flock! The sword shall be upon his arm, and upon his right eye; his arm shall be clean dried up, and his right eye utterly darkened.

I think what is happening right now, both in the Church and the world, is a revealing of things that were hidden. The fact that Mass attendance dropped to 10% (in parishes that were allowed to remain open) of the Catholic population in 2020 is a revelation that only 10% of Catholics possess true faith--the kind that overrides fear and recognizes the Eucharist as the Source and Summit of our Faith.

Just as we're suddenly seeing evil pulling the strings in elections and governments. It's not that suddenly there's more evil; it's that the curtain has been lifted so we can see the truth that's been there for a while.

I would like to know how the church acted at the time of other pandemics regarding the celebration of the Mass.

Good question. From what I understand, the churches in Philadelphia, PA, were closed during the pandemic of Spanish flu around WW I, but the Bishop opened the churches there to use as a hospital for the sick. That’s all I remember reading.

“Remember that you have only one soul; that you have only one death to die; that you have only one life, which is short and has to be lived by you alone; and there is only one Glory, which is eternal,” said St. Teresa of Avila. “If you do this, there will be many things about which you care nothing.”

Some things are beyond our control. This is a situation of which God is well aware, and it is Scriptural. The Lord is close to the broken hearted, for sure. That is a poignant photo, Padraig, of the lone worshipper outside the gates.

    HH,

I believe the parenthesis indicate what is stated comes not from Archbishop Schneider, but is an insert on Gloria TV's part. It's too vague and indefensible to get upset about, rather unprofessional if you ask me.

Good photo. They took down the Vatican crib early. It's usually left up 'til February. Mustn't have been a crowd pleaser. Or maybe it's needed for the next Star Wars movie. One of the wise men was a ringer for Darth Vader. Or was it St. Joseph? Or a shepherd? Or an angel? Maybe Herod got the timing wrong.

I think it came in for too much criticism from right across the world. Even the Secular Media were scratching their heads.

I think the way it works withe these people is that they chance their arms in what they can get away with.

Thank you for answering my question. IMHO, that was the problem. Sweeping generalizations. Poor journalism.
