Today while I was at mass, there were two boys in the pew in front of me, and they were quite wild and noisy. I feel sorry for kids who go to Novus Ordo masses, they're constantly hissed at by their parents, grandparents, and other caregivers to be quiet, while everything else in the mass is telling them to be noisy. I know that a Latin Mass atmosphere doesn't automatically make kids quiet, but it certainly doesn't for kids to be given these contradictory signals, and through the whole thing, nothing is helping them develop a relationship with God. After mass while I was praying, I bumped into one of the kids and his grandmother and she said, "I'm sorry, they're too noisy." I was tempted to reply, "No, the mass is too noisy." I think we should say a few pray for kids that grow up in Novus Ordo parishes, they need a lot prayers even without, God forbid, one might be coming down the pipe in the months to come.
