I enjoyed this so much! Watched it with my 12 year old son who wants to be a priest.

I think what most impressed me about this little video was not the chalices but the young priests themselves. Such good young priests. A great source of hope.

Walking round the Vatican Museum one day I saw many, many chalices on display from centuries ago, off precious metals, covered in jewels, used by Popes, Saints , Bishops and Cardinals in great Cathedrals and tiny Churches. Many of them priceless. But it made me sad, for a Chalice in a glass box no longer used for Mass is no longer really a Holy Heirloom it just something to be stared at, an object.

It makes me think too of the Holiest objects, the Holy Grail , the cup used in the last supper. I think the mystic Tereasa Neuman said that it along with other relics, like the staff of St Joseph, is being held high in the Tibetan Mountains. A kind of Catholic Shang ri la.

They often depict the Holy Grail as being simple, for Jesus was poor. I think it was Blessed A. C. Emmerich who said that Mary Magdeline had bought it at a sale from the temple and it was beautiful and studded with jewels and that it had been used by Abraham for sacrifice.

  6. I remember when my brother died years ago, my mom and dad purchased a Chalice with donations, and gave it to a new Priest who didn't have one. She said each Mass would help my brother. What an incredible thing.

They decorated the Ark of the Covenant and the Temples in Jerusalem with all the riches and glory they could find to hand and they were right to do so. We try to do the same with our little Churches and great Basillicas. I think it is good to do the same with our Holy pictures, statues and icons in our homes. To always choose the best.

Someone gave me the most beautiful pair of rosary beads before I left for Spain as a gift. A small thing but it makes such a difference.. It can't be an accident that rosary beads sometimes turn to gold.

I must put up a a picture of my own beads, which I have become very, very fond of.

I currently have 3 sets of rosary beads that turned gold
I take it as an encouragement, which I need. Lately I pray more with them as I think it's a special blessing given to them from Our Lady. Two years ago when visiting Medjugorje I took up the 7 sorrows rosary. I had a chaplet of tears rosary that I had for many years and used it to pray the 7 sorrows on and it turned to gold before I came home.
