Brian is a fairly recent convert and a wonderful Catholic. He is very, gentle, kind , charitable and loving in all he says and does. He is also very, very intelligent and speaks with a great amount of knowledge and reading. The only thing maybe is he is a little bit innocent about the true nature of evil. But I think the public clerical execution of Bishop Strickland has been kinda red pill moment for him. In either case he is always, always, always well worth listening too. I particularly admire him for his great and constant Charity. He reminds me of Cardinal Burke in this.
I think his analysis is spot on. He links absence of seminarians as a statement on a bishop. BP Strickland has 22 out of a Catholic population of around 120,000. If that's a yardstick then Ireland is badly served by its bishops. My diocese of around 200,000 has 1 seminarian. Last week he presented a business plan to close down a lot of churches. It's heartbreaking to see the state of our church in this country.
If you were to take a business model for the Church then it would be going Bankrupt. But anybody in Business would ask the obvious question, 'Why are we going broke?' In the Church it doesn't seem to be a question that occurs to anyone in charge. It's just a matter of business as usual, as though nothing were the matter. No one asks the obvious question. Why? Inasmuch as they do ask questions they tend to blame it on the customers. The people are Faithless, there are no Vocations because young people are not willing to make the Sacrifice and so on. Anything but turn the finger towards themselves; towards Management.
That photo of the derelict church breaks my heart. I’ve been staring at it in deep sadness. It is sad in itself but also a symbol of what we have been brought to by the leadership in the church. It should be on book covers.
I believe its all about to change. Our Blessed Mother, Mary Most Holy, has her sleeves rolled up and is about to do some house cleaning. The young Vocations now are kinda very special I think.
I don’t believe it’s going to change. I believe it’s going to get much worse. It’s always darkest before the dawn. But even in the darkness the Morning Star will shine.
I believe the Prophecy that states that at the very moment Satan thinks he has won the whole sheebang, Mary will break his wicked old neck for him. We draw very close to that moment. Heaven does not view time as we do.
I was praying to Our Lady some years ago and I received an image of her up to her knees in muck and with her shoulder to the wheel of an old wagon (similar to what one would see in a western film) pushing it out of the muck. She's not afraid to get her hands dirty!
Actually I see that photo of the derelict church in a completely different way my first thought when looking at it was wow id love to get stuck in and repair that. then I read border collies post looks like Our Lady likes to get stuck in to I must be in good company
This is a sad picture. But I like Quis ut Deus's idea. Pull a St Joseph and go to work rebuilding it. One brick one beam at a time. " My Church is falling into ruins. Rebuild it." And St Francis began to rebuild San Damiano which was in ruins. Our Lord had to explain to him that He meant The Church. One of my favorite stories.
