Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock. For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord. 12And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.” . And the shepherds understood this sign for them. All shepherds watched for special unblemished lambs to be born. As soon as an unblemished lamb was born the shepherd would take this lamb and wrap it in swaddling cloth and place the lamb in the manger to keep it safe and free from blemish to give it to the priests in the temple to raise till the lamb was sacrificed for the sins of Israel.
WOW! A beautiful presentation and explanation of why the virgin birth was necessary by Arch Bishop Fulton Sheen. Thank you Te Deum!
