No sum dignus thank you for this beautiful testament to faith in God's perfect will. I will continue to pray for you and your wife and ask for healing but I know what you mean. We are given the grace for each trial we endure if we ask. I learned this lesson when my son died. Mary is waiting at the foot of the Cross to be with us and sustain us. She literally carried me through it. No pain is wasted if we bring it to the Cross so she can give it to her Son. Unimaginable grace flows from being with her in her "fiat". I happen to believe the Pope is mistaken in his words about the Mother of Jesus.

I have read Fr. Z’s take, as well, and I do tend to agree with him. I have personally never been to one of their TLM’s.~AN

I can sympathise with the doubt. I just put together a mini list of things to happening in the Church that would have been laughable to think of just a few years ago. Without judging the pope or claiming that he is an antipope with full certitude, here they are:

Allowing communion for the divorced and remarried, changing the Lord’s Prayer, changing the focus of the Church towards feeding the poor and caring for creation, worshipping idols in the Vatican Gardens, apologising to people who were offended by the idols being thrown in a river (but not to the faithful who may have been offended by that in the first place), never personally denying what Scalfari claimed, focusing only on God’s mercy and not His justice, normalising the idea that married priests and other controversial ideas can be discerned synodally, abolishing the death penalty, criticising just war, criticising private property, writing about “liberty, equality and fraternity” that would no doubt sound offensive to pious ears but does it anyway, creating a multi-faith center for the Abrahamic faiths.

I’ve missed some things no doubt. If any other person in a Church did these things, they would be stopped, but since he’s pope no one dares to stop him, lest they be schismatic. Everyone just quietly accepts it.

So I understand why there are doubts to who is pope because the pope is the guardian of the faith.

I'm sure we all could add to your list. I know that I could. Bottom line is that a hundred doubts don't add up to one certainty.
