I was watching the riots in Portland (USA) and then I saw this! It reminded me of what St Padre Pio said, to pray is to be in Heaven. Let us never loose our Peace Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel; he has come to his people and set them free. He has raised up for us a mighty savior, born of the house of his servant David. Through his holy prophets he promised of old that he would save us from our enemies, from the hands of all who hate us. He promised to show mercy to our fathers and to remember his holy covenant. This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: to set us free from the hands of our enemies, free to worship him without fear, holy and righteous in his sight all the days of our life. You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way, to give his people knowledge of salvation by the forgiveness of their sins. In the tender compassion of our God the dawn from on high shall break upon us, to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death, and to guide our feet into the way of peace.
I wonder what the music in heaven will be like? I hope God gives us all a good singing voice there. I always wanted to learn the Classical Guitar; maybe I will have a couple of billions years to learn.
I read somewhere that angels don't talk, they sing. Kind of like chanting I would think. Like the Canticle of Zaccharia . . .just a thought.
I think they also use musical instruments, like the harp and the horn. I am not to sure about them not speaking. When St Gabriel came to Mary he seemed to be speaking. But then again maybe their speaking is so beautiful it sounds like a song. I heard an actual physical recording of the voice of Padre Pio and it really surprised me. I had an idea it would be a deep bass but it was closer to a light tenor. This pleased me in a way, it made him more human. It must have been hard on him with so many regarding him as a living saint. Such a test of his humility.
This is the first time I heard his voice. Very measured and controlled Very good! Thank you, Padraig.
