Wasn't there a private revelation that said the great tribulation would start with a tsunami?
“On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired.”
No, they would laugh it off. An east coast tsunami threat is rarely spoken of, but I have seen documentaries over the years about the likelihood of a tsunami in the Pacific northwest. I have thought about how we would survive such a catastrophic event, and it would all depend on how much warning you would have to head for the hills. If it hit my town, our house would be somewhere out in the middle of the Atlantic for sure. My son who lives in NYC was recently gifted a 32 foot sloop. We've talked about tsunamis hitting the east coast for years, so I jokingly told him he may very well be the 'new Noah'.
I am not on the coast but not that far inland. I think about these things.
And not to forget the connection with our lady if Mount melleray and also the famous prophecy of St Patrick
Seven years before the day of doom Erin would be inundated in one watch but float will the cleric of iona
Yes jo… they’d think me nuts… ( until it happens) .
In Gods good hands+++
I’m near West Virginia and far enough from the coast not to be too worried about a tsunami itself, just the collapse of our society which a big one would entail.
I have no doubt there will be another eruption.
Whether it causes a landslide on the side of the big volcano on La Palma where there’s a big fissure in the western facing side of the volcano, and how big a tsunami results, is the question.
Honestly I doubt it this time around but it is a possibility; I don’t think we’re “there” yet.
Yes, if strong enough tsunamis can travel pretty far inland!
True Brian. No escape. If the tsunami doesn't get you, you will suffer in the aftermath anyway.
We are sitting ducks here.
That's right! You are on the coast.
For sure. Here in Florida no place to escape. We are as flat as a pancake.
So many of us are "coastal." Praying our Guardian Angels tell us when to "get out of Dodge"
You can see it's effects here, the BBC did a famous documentary on it years ago.. They got slam dunked for it for scaring people half to death:
The BBC had to publish a Q&A shot on their websites at the time to stop people taking heart attacks:
We are right on the Western Shore of the Chesapeake Bay. Any tsunami can either
come rolling across the Eastern Shore of
Maryland, or roll right up the Bay.
I’m not moving. This is where I’m supposed to be. Remember that video about the salt?
I hope you take this in the spirit I’m saying this —-
Honestly though even inland is in jeopardy due to the rivers and the Great Lakes that can flood out
Here's a computer simulation. Doesn't look so good for the Bahamas. Looks like the waves won't reach some northern European countries. Part of England's East coast might escape too. Who would have thought that a bungalow in Skegness would have more appeal than a villa in Lanzarote. I think we'll be all right for a while. Also, half the island splitting off is a worst case scenario. Americans will have 8 hours to get to higher ground. If you're really worried about it, have an evacuation plan in place so you just have to get in the car and go at short notice.
