I received a message today asking for the St Michael prayer to be prayed 22 times between today (13 May) and 22 May. An alleged visionary's message from Our Lady.

    How absurd this all is.

If the law in Ireland is changed.

Two heterosexual men can 'marry' each other.
Two heterosexual women can 'marry' each other.
Two 'friends' of the same sex can marry for tax benefit & inheritance purposes.

Let's be clear - this is not marriage, and it never will be marriage.

The Sun is the Sun it is not the moon. The moon is not the Sun. You can try to convince me otherwise & I will not believe you.

So marriage is a union between a man and a woman, always has been and always will be. A man cannot marry a man nor a woman a woman. No change of the definition is going to change the reality.

God Bless Ireland! Stand firm and reject this nonsense.

That's what happens when the govt becomes your religion. Give to God what is God's and give to Ceasar what is Ceasar's.

Hi. I haven't posted on here in a while but have started reading again recently (lurking is the official term I think :)). An Irish journalist (a journalist held in high esteem I might add), Bruce Arnold, has been publishing articles on his blog at brucearnold.ie about same-sex marriage. He and a group of private citizens recently investigated the potential legal effects and the possible constitutional challenges that could arise on the back of the proposed amendment to the Irish Constitution entitled Same-Sex Marriage in the Irish Constitution. It is available for download here. The effects will be even greater than have been considered and no doubt, if this amendment is passed, over time many of the unintended consequences he outlines may come to pass. It is well worth a read, even more-so if you are in Ireland and would like to be able to express your opinion and defend it with the legal and constitutional facts.
On a lighter note, I am hopeful that it will not be passed :) Maybe I'm just a foolish optimist but there it is.

    No problem garabandal.
I know exactly how you feel Torrentum I'm not suggesting that anyone put themselves out there in situations where they will just be attacked. Doing that would probably be unwise as people in those scenarios are not open to the reality of the situation.
However, I've found that opportunities arise when someone else brings up the topic among a group of 2 or 3 in which one can express the No position simply and fairly. That does make a difference to people that are unsure I think.
I was recently in this situation and talking to two others when they brought up the subject. One said he was on the fence and was worried he was prejudiced. When I gave my opinion he almost immediately was in agreement with me. His uncertainty was related to the fear that his doubts were related to prejudice and just knowing else was voting no and had good reasons for doing so gave him confidence.

I realize this story pertains to the UK and not the Irish Republic, but gives you a sense of what to expect if it passes. BTW, I expect the same scenario to play out when the SCOTUS acts on similar issue this June. So much for "freedom". I honestly don't get how any government can step into what are private contracts that do not involve government funds? As a business owner it just seems so clear that I have the right to sell to whom I want and yes, in fact, I can "discriminate" (in the broadest sense of that word). I'm not taking any funds from taxes. If the buyer doesn't like it, they find someplace else to buy. And if there is no other seller, well than you can be darned sure that is a business opportunity for someone. It's all just nuts. My beliefs and rights are completely usurped by a very tiny minority who really has not been harmed at all.

I'll be praying for you and for all the people who are out canvassing. The people in my area have put an incredible amount of work and effort into the NO campaign over the past few weeks and I am incredibly grateful to those who are putting themselves out there on the front lines, it is not easy. I did about 3 hours of leafleting one morning and thought afterwards, 'give me fasting any day'!

I think you might be surprised, though, at how much support there is for the No vote; it's mainly silent, but people open up once they know it's safe to 'come out' to a fellow No voter!

We know that the media has gone mad on this but our ex president again at it today I will not mention her name to say she disappointed with the church stance is one thing and then turn around and say no problem saying yes and going to mass well about time someone had a word with her been going on to long and she gets away with it. I predict if it is passed the weather will change and I predict also and I do not wish this to happen we will either get a tornado or a earthquake in Ireland as Matthew in his gospel says "earthquakes in diverse places" . has no one worked out that man on his own with his own laws has not worked we still have wars , famines, and sickness this show it without our divine god we are nothing don't they know short time on earth . Also may Patricks sister rest in peace and sad to hear of her passing.

I had a dream the other night that huge waves were crashing over the walls and windows of my house. No sooner did that subside than there was a tornado about 50ft wide ripping through my front garden and heading for my house. It was terrifying and I hope it was only a symptom of my fears and not a prophesy!!

You're not the only one to have such dreams.. I certainly makes one stand up and take notice.. perhaps a sign of things to come sadly.

At present. The weather this time of year is rather strange where I live; hailstones beating down in the last two days - sending off car alarms. Quite a wintery May here.

    God bless!
