I think the Pope's visit to Fatima on 13 May 2010 is providential and perhaps it may bring a few surprises? http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1001896.htm
Yes, I do feel that it may bring a few good surprises. Hopefully some beatifications/canonizations....? I wonder if maybe some kind of supernatural phenomenon from God, too? Don't know...But may God protect the Pope for him to be safe and travel to there and back to Vatican safe and sound....
Odd coincidence, but the President of the United States (Barack Obama) is coming to Buffalo on the same date... I hope he doesn't bring any trouble with him! Maybe we can switch things up and send the President to Fatima and bring the Pope to Buffalo? Now that would be cool! Also- my little one gets her tonsils out that day... so if you wouldn't mind, say a little prayer for her. Thanks!
I sense the Pope is aware of the depths of sin now within the Church - he has called the state of sin in the Church 'terrifying' and said there is a real need for great penitence from the Church itself. The use of the word terrifying here is of enormous significance - at last a Pontiff has grasped the reality that the barque of Peter is taking in water, that the storms of secularism and unbelief have brought a great darkness to the world and to the Church and only a saviour can now save the Church. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/8674350.stm The visit to Fatima is therefore providential - the Pope will probably call the Church to penitence in the spirit of the Fatima children who sacrificed so much for sinners. The Pope must also realise that the 1st Secret pertaining to Hell was prophetic as the modern mind does not consider Hell at all. The souls that the chidren saw falling into Hell were also the souls of many Catholics infected by the spirit of apostacy and mortal sin. The Pope must call upon the Saviour Jesus Christ to intervene and save us from this wicked and perverse generation. We are getting ever closer to the Warning.
Last year before Good Friday I had a terrible sense of foreboding. Now the warning as we know didn't happen. This year I have the same feeling but I have to be pragmatic. All over the internet, there is speculation that "the veil is thinning", "chastisements are imminent" and that possibly something will happen in Fatima this coming Thursday, because it is the 13th of May and Pope Benedict will be there. I read something interesting - "My child, you speculate much about the coming Warning. I have asked you many times not to speculate on dates, but I give you one indication that the time is ripe. When you see, when you hear, when you feel the revolution in Rome, when you see the Holy Father fleeing, seeking a refuge in another land, know that the time is ripe." And another one that I came across. TO BE PRAYED AGAINST "If it was not for My Mother Who steadily holds Her hand upon Mine in sorrow, I would let My hand fall and the Warning come upon mankind. It is not to be asked for, because you know it is coming, My children. It is to be prayed against, for there will be those who will die in this Warning." - Jesus, October 1, 1988. I of course wish sometimes that the Warning will occur sooner rather than later but, on the other hand people beside me could be dropping dead! Not a nice thought. I think the most important thing is to pray for unbelievers and pray to God that it is not our loved one's or anyone else's loved ones that are dying beside us on that day. Siobhan
Please ignore the two quotes above- they are from Veronica Luekens site! Sorry about that. I thought I was quoting from a Garabandal site. Oh I can be very easily fooled. Just as well that I went back and checked. Siobhan
I really like your post Siobhan. I know the Warning is coming but for the life of me I don't want it to happen yet!! I don't think we realise the ugliness of our souls - even those of us that are forewarned. At the moment I feel the presence of Our Lady everyday in a way did not before so she is drawing me nearer and trying to lead me despite the fact I keep getting distracted and forgetting about her. I don't think the warning is imminent (though it is soon) because I think she's working hard to give me the beauty of soul which I have destroyed over the years and I think she wants to prepare me before it comes. I know other people's souls are in a different state from mine but this is how I feel Our Lady working in my life at the moment. Muireann
Muireann - our Lady is drawing you to herself and you will come to love her totally in return - Totus Tuus! The warning is like a remedy for our souls - everyone will feel it. We will suffer terror but without physical pain and be alone with God no matter where we find ourselves. It is to correct the conscience of the world. After the warning we will live good lives.
Thanks garabandal. I'm a sucker for a bit of encouragement! I'd like nothing more than to be so close to her. I need her.
While there's always the possibility of some uproar in the temporal sense, I don't think anything mystically mind-blowing unusual is going to happen on the 13th. Maybe I've been hearing the little boy cry "WOLF" too long and too often and have become cynical when somebody claims to have figured it all out. Since the opposite of whatever I say is usually correct, this might up the chances something actually DOES happen.
