I keep reading and re-reading the Maria Valtorta books, which take me to the Holy Land or into Jesus' Heart every time I open them. What a gift!

andree, I am so happy to find someone who also reads Maria Valtorta. What a gift, indeed, you are right. :)I feel as though I am transported to Palestine on every page, walking with Jesus and the Apostles in the heat and the rain. Like you, I keep re-reading each volume. Right now I am on Volume 4 and will start Volume 5 on Ash Wednesday as preparation for Lent. I also re-read St Anne Catherine Emmerich's "Dolorous Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ" during Lent, but find the more modern language used by Valtorta much more easy-going. :)

Just a thought - are there any threads on this forum dealing with Maria Valtorta? I'm new here and haven't yet had time to read through all the threads.

I was doing my workout the other day in my office at home and felt drawn to one of the hundreds of books on the shelves in that room and grabbed it. It was one my wife had read years ago and put on my shelf: http://www.90minutesinheaven.com/

Absolutely astounding story. It's a quick read and you won't be able to put it down.

I haven't seen any threads here for MV's works, but why not start one yourself:).

I had found a forum for readers of the Poem of the Man God here, which I bookmarked ages ago, but I can't tell you anything more about it.

Thanks for that link, Andree. I had no idea MV's works were available online. Just had a quick glance and it looks like a great site. I will think about your suggestion to start a thread. I'm new to this, and am not quite sure yet how to do that :unsure:

Inis, for Maria Valtorta fans, there is a fantastic webring, which has links to many MV resources. If the books aren't enough, you can also find recordings of her texts through the Australian readers group, in MP3 format that you can download and listen to at home, in the car or wherever. Enjoy!

I am back to the Flame of Love diary- I really think this movement needs to take off so that Jesus can indeed find faith on Earth. I went to the Candlemas Mass at the Basilica which was sponsored by the National Flame of Love Movement. They are in the Philadelphia area. I believe Our Lord and Our Lady has given us some powerful tools with this devotion.

I am periodically re-reading it- the first time I read it I was a Catholic "newbie" still in RCIA- it is sinking in better this time.
