Thunder snow while rare is not that unusual, not common by any means, but it happens. I remember it happening in Chicago when I was a kid. Now I live in the South, the old wives tale down here is if you hear thunder in January, expect snow in 10 days. I don't think there's any validity to it, just a legend attached to a rare event.

WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL ROME IS CONQUERED

He promised that the Islamic State will not stop its jihad until Rome is conquered:

By Allah’s permission, they [US-led coalition] will be defeated. And indeed the Muslims will be victorious. By Allah’s promise, they will be victorious. And the march of the mujahidin will continue until they reach Rome.

Interesting. My niece is a in a religous order in France and she tells a much different story on the spirituality there. She said you cannot find youth and and few adults in Church in Farnce. Many people she talks to on the streets have not even heard of Jesus. Not sure this is a "very strong" spiritual identifer.

Actually, I agree with your niece! And I see that I wasn't very clear in my post about the strength of the spiritual flame in France. What I meant was that despite the surface appearance of disorder, continued loss of faith and general decline in France, there is still a strong faith among many, which granted is not among the largest % of the population. Many churches outside of big cities are emptying…but sanctuaries and churches in big cities and their suburbs are still packed.

I brought up the novena for France as a sign of those with faith who turn to prayer because prayer, more than human effort is, for me anyway, the number one sign of faith. You can’t take photos of it or see it on the street, but it’s there. For a change, I wanted to flag a positive sign.

There are also obvious outward signs of faith here as in these photos of the massive number of people who have protested against gay marriage laws and the ongoing movement of "veilleurs" (watchers), which are faithful who stand like pillars in front of state buildings and pray silently.

    We Spoke Too Soon!!!!

Emergency Prayers Are Needed RIGHT NOW!!! (Oh Saint Michael, Please intervene on behalf of these children and this orphanage!!!)
The following is an emergency prayer request Rick Wiles had just sent out via email. Please plead with Heaven to intervene!!!
    Dear friend,
The situation in Tena, Ecuador worsened this evening. The MEIS (social services) officials and a large number of police officers just raided Bless an Orphan’s children’s home minutes ago. Here is the text of my daughter Karissa Washburn’s email I received at 5:49 PM:
“An army of police and MIES goons bombarded us and came in with cameras and started going through the entire house and asking the kids questions and us questions. They gave us a legal document ordering us to be out of the building in 72 hours they are taking the building. The order also said they have permission to take ALL of our children.

Those thugs have declared war on our children’s home. I cannot even begin to tell you what the past few hours were like, let alone the past week. We are tired. My team is tired. We are angry. We are hurt. We are desperate for God to intervene. We've shed more tears than you could imagine. I've never seen anything like this.

I feel like I'm in a movie. I have cried out to God today to come rescue us. Please don’t stop praying. Dear God help us.” Three MEIS (Ecuador Department of Social Services) social workers have committed serious abuses of government power against Bless an Orphan for two years. Today it reached its zenith of absurdity.

There is no rational explanation for their bizarre behavior except that they are driven by shaman witchcraft against a Christian ministry that is rescuing abused, abandoned, and unwanted children in the Napo Province of Ecuador. Bless an Orphan has enjoyed the support of the city government and many local officials. There are four people, however, who will not stop in their war to destroy Bless an Orphan: The three MEIS social workers and a local Judge Sophia.

Let me tell you a true story about these persons. Last April, Karissa flew to Florida to spend time with her Mom. My wife Susan has been very ill for a year. Karissa persuaded an Ecuador judge to sign an order allowing her to bring a four-year-old little girl to Florida with her. The MEIS witches sought a court order on the morning of the flight to block the trip, but failed. They later demanded that Karissa have medical tests done on the child in America, and prove it when she returned to Ecuador. The judge consented and issued the order. Karissa took the child to various doctors and clinics when she was in Florida. (By the way, the precious little girl suffered head trauma at age 2 when she was beaten by her father and mother. Bless an Orphan paid for her hospitalization….but that doesn’t matter to MEIS.)

When Karissa and the child returned to Ecuador, Karissa was served with a MEIS order demanding that she take the child to the local hospital immediately. Why? The three MEIS social workers told the judge that they had information that Susan and I had the child’s organs removed in Florida and sold them on the black market! I’m serious! That’s how crazy these MEIS social workers are in trying to get this child from Karissa. They are making Ecuador look foolish.

Here is what has happened this week: A court hearing was convened on Tuesday by MEIS demanding that Bless an Orphan surrender five siblings to their biological parents. The parents live in a hut in the Amazon jungle. The father is a drunk, the mother doesn’t care for her children, and the grandmother is a shaman witch. There are rumors in the town that mother and father murdered a number of their children and hid their bodies in the jungle. Local law enforcement officials have not investigated the family, nor asked the whereabouts of their missing children.

What we do know as a fact is that the father and mother buried alive one of the girls who is now in custody of Bless an Orphan. They dug a hole in the jungle, placed the little girl in a plastic bag, dropped her in the hole, and covered up the child while she was still alive! The girl’s older sister and brother discovered the grave and dug up their sister. She was alive! MEIS wants this child returned to the man and woman who tried to murder her. When Bless an Orphan received the children five years ago into their custody, they were malnourished, abused, filthy, sick, and infested with parasites and lice. MEIS is demanding that these children be given back to the parents who abused and neglected them…and tried to kill one of them! Furthermore, the drunken father admitted several months ago why he wants the children returned. He said, “The men in the village are raping my wife. If my daughters are here, perhaps they will leave my wife alone.” The daughters are ages 4, 12, and 14.

Karissa was not permitted to attend Tuesday’s court hearing. There were many local Tena and Napo Province government officials in attendance, however, who support Bless an Orphan in the city. The corrupt little Judge Sophia couldn’t do anything but the right thing because there were too many people in the courtroom watching her actions. She said the children would stay in the custody of Bless an Orphan. When the judge’s papers arrived yesterday, Karissa was shocked to discover the judge changed her mind and ordered Bless an Orphan to surrender the five children to the three MEIS women. Judge Sophia immediately left town “on vacation” and couldn’t be reached to discuss an appeal.

Today MEIS and the police raided Bless an Orphan and threatened to seize the children’s home within 72 hours. Somebody in Ecuador’s government must step in and stop this outrageous abuse of power by MEIS against Bless an Orphan. It is making Ecuador look like a backward, primitive nation without the rule of law. I encourage you to pray aggressive precatory prayers against these three MEIS social services workers and the corrupt judge, and strong intercessory prayers on behalf of Bless an Orphan. The MEIS officials and their corrupt judge need to be stopped. Pray that a high-level Ecuador official hears about this abuse of power in Tena and squashes it. Jesus Christ said: “It would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck and he were cast into the sea than that he should cause one of these little ones to sin.” (Luke 17:2)

I could hardly believe it when a friend told me this was on cbbc at 6pm in the evening on a channel aimed at 6 to 12 yr olds. Talk about sowing confusion!

'I just want people to finally see me the way I see myself,' pleads irresistibly honest Leo, the transgender 13-year-old whose story opens the new run of CBBC's award-winning My Life strand.
Leo is a TV natural and his life experience fits entirely with My Life's ambition to show ordinary children going through extraordinary things. Transgender is nevertheless a particularly challenging subject for the channel to tackle for its audience of 6-12-year olds, says executive producer Kez Margrie.

Notice some people leave the room before the invocation so looks authentic.

I wonder where this took place?

Insanity at its best. Pity these poor souls for they really don't realize what they are doing.

That can't be for real. If it is, the only explanation I can imagine is that the man speaking goes back and sits in the audience when he is done. So, City Councils have rules about free speech and such and every time I go to one of our local meetings (it's not often, last time was a zoning issue for our parish and our pastor asked us to show up to help persuade the council to vote favorably for us--they did!), there is a guy who gets up and talks nonsense for his allotted 2 minutes about all kinds of paranoid stuff about gun control, taxation, and illuminati stuff. The City Council just suffers through it and his words are put into the record, then he sits down and everyone goes about their business. So let's hope this is just one similar thing were one poor deluded soul is allowed to speak, then they go on with business as normal

According to the video, vice mayor, Scott Maxwell led the "invocation." Would seem that he is a official of the town or whatever.
