You know, we live in such confusing times, a misunderstanding is very normal now, we all can misinterpret things very easily today. Our Lady understands that perfectly ! We are human beings and therefore imperfect. Don't be so hard for yourself. Look at Saint Peter and what he became: the leader of the Church and you are the leader of this forum !
I will admit to feeling a bit foolish about my reaction to the Synod this week- as recent convert there is still so much I am learning. I am very relieved by how the Holy Father ended this synod. I just need to stay in faith! I feel like Jesus jusr calmed the storm and is looking at me saying oh ye of little faith
Padraig, this is such a confusing time right now- maybe what happened was needed so that we faithful can see how easy it is to lose faith and heart, even those of us so close to Jesus and Mary, and that we are here to strenghen each other and bear each others' burdens. The Lord always gives us the grace we need even when we stumble, His grace will always find us!
I have not read one thing about the synod and I don't know now if I will. When I read what you wrote Padraig I was stunned and could not believe it. I thought for sure someone had hijacked your username and password. I put down the computer went to bed and prayed hard for the board, the church, the pope and you. I thought I would rise this morning to see a whole new board filled with attacks on the church and even MDM garbage. I kept thinking this could not be since not that long ago people were being banned for attacking the pope and now the leader the captain of the ship of MOG had turned. Thankfully all that has changed this morning. I am not smart enough to decipher and cut through all the deception so I simply stand with Our Lord, Our Mother, and their church which includes the present pope. The deception will be everywhere so I am laying low on the ship in the troubled sea so I don't get knocked overboard and into the turbulent waters. The devil is way smarter and more cunning than us so even when we feel something may be someway I can't make such and accusation or pass judgement because then I have fallen into his trap. When I am angry and confused about this stuff I will simply calm down, count to ten and say a prayer to keep the faith, the love and the trust in God's plan at work and not the devils.
Padraig, every one of us is going to be confused and tempted to abandon ship by the evil one as the storm worsens. It's why this board you built is so valuable. We can help one another when we falter. Do not beat yourself up. But please promise to help me back on board when, not if, the evil one has confused me.

We all fall and thankfully Padraig, your humility allowed you to catch it quickly- which is a grace and I'm sure Our Lady was right there with you like the loving Mother she is. I think we all need to pray in these times to have humility and just trust in God. I think all that is coming will require of us to die to self and to live for Christ. I know because I'm such a pig headed fool at times always thinking I know best rather than God that this will be a struggle for me. Peace.
The sad thing about this synod for me was the synod was supposed to be about the family, i never heard or read one story about the main reason why our Church is in the the state it is in and that is the protection of our children from pedofile's. We have some Cardinals and Bishops who knowenly moved pedofiles around to hide thier own short comings and put our children and our family's into the hand of satan and child abuse. Some Cardinals and Bishops knew who the pedofiles were in thier own diocese and continued to let these pedofiles Consecrate the Body and Blood of Our Lord and hand it out to our family's and in some cases to the very children they were abusing. Were our Cardinals and Bishops thinking about their flocks then or were they thinking about their own reputations. Then we have the Vatican Bank and we see what our Cardinals and Bishops have been up to with secret bank accounts with millions of £ Pounds in them belonging to God knows who.The epeness
Actually I reading about a young man who died recently, apparently he had been molested as a child by a priest and turned into a rabid atheist for the rest of his life; as well as this he suffered serious ill health the rest of his life. I remember too the case of a young novice who was molested by his novice master, when he went to his religious superior the superior also attacked him the same way. Both this young man and another novice , a friend of his who was also molested left the order and both became homosexuals, I suspect as a consequence. I have never heard of either priest suffering any consequences. I don't know how bad this kind of thing is or was in other countries but it seems to have been almost endemic in Ireland. I always thought this kind of thing was very,very close to Satanism so I would be very ,very surprised if this has not opened some kind of portal or doorway right into the Church, giving Satan great power even to the very highest levels in the Church. I can only say when I watch certain high prelates I am filled with a kind of sick horror. There can be no doubt a great spiritual war is going on in the very highest levels of the Church. I am not talking about just bad people, but truly wicked evil folks going right out for the utter destruction of the Church.
I wonder if many at high levels of the Church really, really realise who and what they are really up against?

God certainly knows what we are up against, and will certainly act. While Pope Francis may be approaching some issues from a different perspective, there is no doubt in my mind that he us keenly aware of what he is up against.
