Deanna is on my beads - and so are you. Sometimes I think the foot of the cross is more painful than the cross!

Prayed for Deanna today during rosaries and lifted her up to Jesus at adoration.

Thank-you all again and again. I don't wish to to take too much of your prayer time, or to take any advantage of the generosity of each one of your kind hearts. But I really feel close to the souls on this site, even though I haven't met any of you in person. Unfortunately our friends, and most of our families are immersed in the world, and are nowhere to be found when we need them. She hasn't slept more than a couple hours each night. She couldn't each lunch or dinner because the food is so terrible and makes her sick. Her pain is almost unbearable. The guards and prison nurse are not compassionate. The other inmates are unkind and cold. I cannot visit in person, and can only video visit one per week. She's trying to be brave, but she cried when I talked to her on the phone today. Deanna is the most kind hearted person I've ever known...always concerned for others more than herself...a loyal loving friend to any soul that would let her befriend them...a huge heart, which my son Ian also got from her. (Mine is a lump of coal in comparison). Mistreated since she was a child, I believe she learned how never to treat another soul. I fell in love with her the moment we met. I trust The Lord; He is in charge of every moment, and is not wasting one minute of her suffering, but I don't understand his ways. I find myself in fear that his answer to end her suffering might be to bring her home to him before I'm ready to let her go. Her suffering seems to go on and on. Do you see?...she is a Trampled Flower in my eyes. God help!

It was her 2nd DUI. Here is the sentence: 150 days in jail, stayed, for two years probation. Plus 65 days in jail, reduced to 20 days, but 45 days day reporting.

Greggo, the mystery of the cross is something we will never understand fully in this life. Why some have a heavier cross then others I do not know. Why some with good hearts suffer more then hard-hearted people I do not understand. What I do understand, in some degree, is that God loves each of us with unmeasurable love. I know this because I am made in his image and likeness. I suffer when those I love are in pain and in those times love is deepened. I believe that in the suffering of your wife she and your whole family are receiving extraordinary graces that you may not see now, but soon will be manifested. I try to keep in mind that when we suffer, Jesus and Mary are right next to us and suffering with us. What a mystery our God is. Mary, the Flame of Love, will manifest her love in our suffering. I pray that she be healed from all her suffering and through it all she will find the peace of all those praying for her. God Bless.

When we love, we go beyond our suffering; our hurts are still there, but they are transformed by love, and we only see the intensity of love, a love which seeks union (with the beloved). Father Marie-Dominique Philippe, O.P.

Most compassionate Father, by your will your Son was plunged into the depths of human misery. Oh Lord in hearing the pain and misery that Deanna is going through and hearing the love Greggo has for his wife you alone can fully understand this pain and suffering and the love and compassion for those in deepest need for your mercy. I ask with a heart felt love that you bestow graces upon them so that they may find their hope intensified, their faith opened and love you more deeply. Oh Lord renew their Spirit through your unending love for mankind and our Holy Mothers motherly love for her children. For this do we pray, Amen.

I will pray to Saint Joseph through the week ,Greg both for her, you and your whole family through the week. I know prison can be terrible but I have heard so many stories of redemption from there. It may be we have to hit bottom for climbing to the top.

I suppose that is little consolation right now..Maye these words of St Paul?

Praying. I'm not sure what else to say except every cross has a reason and we won't be asked to carry it for 1 millisecond longer than we have to. I pray its purpose is reached asap.

I will pray for Deanna and her husband--I'm sure he is suffering a great deal, too. That means you, Greggo. I'm so sorry for the loss of your son. God's grace, consolation and peace upon the both you.

    --Deanna

Do you know the story about how padraig saw the Virgin Mary when he was in prison? He knows from experience about how it can bring personal redemption!
