Yes Bobby. Me too. I pray for the grace to stay faithful. Your inner vision at Mass is reality actually--IMO. Mother Teresa said " the fruit of abortion is nuclear war." God has been so patient with our hard cold hearts as a culture. But hearts just grow harder.
Reading her autobiography was a real eye opener for me. But the Godlessness of Communism is always front and center.
The Irish Church very quickly became perceived as an NGO run by the simpering, hand-ringing facilitators of perverts. They treated the most blasphemous and appalling crimes as treatable ‘illness’, rather than sin. They displayed more faith in Freud than any they might have had in God. They didn’t leave their sheep with as much as a blade of grass to live on.
They abandoned the flock. 'Woe to the shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves! Should not the shepherds feed the flock' (Zechariah).
I am in Taize currently. I love the prayer life, song and simplicity. This place hosts thousands in the summer, in the winter like up to a 100. I realize on this pilgrimage, that people seeking true peace are something of a small minority. Jesus says the men of the world are more prudent in dealing with their own than the children of the light. It's true, we let ourselves as Christians get exploited constantly. We won't ever have peace as long as we get exploited, and the numbers aren't in our favor.
