Jesus the Divine Mercy revealed Himself to St Faustina in the 20th century and His messages to her revealed very different aspects of his Divine Mercy.
https://www.ewtn.com/catholicism/devotions/second-coming-13377 "You will prepare the world for My final coming." (Diary 429) "Speak to the world about My mercy ... It is a sign for the end times. After it will come the Day of Justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fountain of My mercy." (Diary 848) "Tell souls about this great mercy of Mine, because the awful day, the day of My justice, is near." (Diary 965). "I am prolonging the time of mercy for the sake of sinners. But woe to them if they do not recognize this time of My visitation." (Diary 1160) "Before the Day of Justice, I am sending the Day of Mercy." (Diary 1588) "He who refuses to pass through the door of My mercy must pass through the door of My justice." (Diary 1146). In addition to these words of Our Lord Sr. Faustina gives us the Words of the Mother of Mercy, the Blessed Virgin, "You have to speak to the world about His great mercy and prepare the world for the Second Coming of Him who will come, not as a merciful Savior, but as a just Judge. Oh how terrible is that day! Determined is the day of justice, the day of divine wrath. The angels tremble before it. Speak to souls about this great mercy while it is still the time for granting mercy. (Diary 635)."
The mercy increased because the sins got harder to avoid, IMHO. People need daily access to the Eucharist, easily attained indulgences and a near baptismal do-over once a year just to keep up.
Maybe plenary indulgences? The yearly Divine Mercy plenary indulgence? My dear Father in law that had lived most of his life in sin with no confession benefitted extraordinarily from the mercy of Divine Mercy Sunday shortly before his speedy death. I am so grateful to Jesus.
From Aleteia, this evening: Pope Leo speaks with Zelensky, renews ceasefire plea As famine grips Russian-occupied Oleshky, the Pope hopes an agreement can open the way for aid deliveries and the safe evacuation of civilians. Published on 10/19/26| I.Media |3 min read This photo taken and handout on December 9, 2025 by The Vatican Media shows Pope Leo XIV during a meeting with Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky, in Castel Gandolfo. The two exchanged gifts. Three days after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Pope Leo XIV spoke with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on October 19, 2026, the Vatican announced. Once again, the humanitarian crisis in Oleshky was central to their discussion, with the Pope renewing his appeal for a "humanitarian ceasefire." According to a brief statement issued by the Holy See Press Office late in the day this Monday, the Pope recalled "the grave situation in the city of Oleshky, in the Kherson region." He also referred to "the request for a humanitarian ceasefire" he had already made to Putin. The southern Ukrainian city, under Russian military occupation since 2022, is facing famine as well as the conflict; aid cannot get in and the population cannot get out. Shutterstock The Pope, who returned to the Vatican on Saturday, expressed hope that "cooperation between both parties will allow for the delivery of food and medical aid" and the "voluntary and safe evacuation of the civilian population." He also reaffirmed "the commitment of the Holy See to promoting dialogue and peace," the statement concluded. Previous conversations with Putin The conversation came three days after Leo XIV spoke with Putin by phone on October 16 from Rome's Gemelli Hospital, where he was receiving treatment. During that call, he expressed his "deep concern about the grave humanitarian situation in the city of Oleshky," according to a Vatican statement. The text used much the same language as the one issued on Monday. Leo XIV and Putin had already spoken by phone on June 4, 2025. At the time, the Pope had appealed for Russia to make "a gesture that would favor peace." He also emphasized the importance of dialogue between the two sides to "seek solutions to the conflict," according to Vatican News. That conversation marked the highest-level contact between Russia and the Holy See since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022. Frequent contact with Zelensky Contacts with the Ukrainian president have been more frequent since the beginning of Leo XIV's pontificate. On April 3, 2026, ahead of Easter, the Pope spoke with Zelensky by phone, extending his Easter greetings and reaffirming "his closeness to the Ukrainian people." Leo XIV and Zelensky have also met in person three times. Their first meeting took place on May 18, 2025, when the Ukrainian president attended the Pope's inaugural Mass and had an opportunity to speak with him privately. The following July 9, the Pope received Zelensky at his residence in Castel Gandolfo, where he was spending his vacation. Leo reiterated the Holy See's willingness "to welcome representatives of Russia and Ukraine to the Vatican for negotiations." He also encouraged efforts aimed at "the release of prisoners and the search for shared solutions," according to the official statement. The Pope received Zelensky again on December 9, 2025, also at Castel Gandolfo. During that meeting, he expressed his urgent desire that "the current diplomatic initiatives bring about a just and lasting peace." On October 11, shortly before announcing his upcoming surgery, Leo expressed concern about the disruption of grain exports from Russia and Ukraine through the Black Sea, amid increasing attacks by both sides. With many countries in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East suffering the consequences, he called for the safe passage of grain shipments. "The daily bread of millions of people cannot be held hostage by the war," he declared.
In a time when we are hearing so much bad news it is wonderful to report some very, very good news. In face it may be a little miracle: https://infovaticana.com/en/2026/10...tia-nothing-is-published-until-he-reads-them/ The Pope freezes the conclusions on Amoris Laetitia: nothing is published until he reads them Pope Leo XIV has addressed a letter to the bishops and families gathered in Rome on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of Amoris Laetitia. In it, he announces that he will read the conclusions and offer his reflections “in due course.” Until then, the synthesis report of the meeting will remain unpublished, at the express wish of the Pontiff, who is recovering from lung surgery.
More good news ... no further treatment needed for Pope Leo. https://aleteia.org/2026/10/21/grea...ily-&utm_content=Newsletter&utm_term=20261022
Pope Leo had phone calls with Putin and Zelensky recently to try to bring about a truce in the occupied city of Oleshky to allow supplies and first aid in. Sky News reporting just now that Melania Trump (??) has managed to broker this ceasefire. Melania Trump brokers ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in city, White House says Some more breaking news to bring you from Ukraine. The White House has said Melania Trump, the First Lady, has successfully secured a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine "localised to the city of Oleshky". Russia and Ukraine have agreed to temporarily stop all military action in the city to allow for humanitarian aid to enter and to prepare a civilian evacuation through a designated safe passageway, the White House added. The agreement will begin on 29 October. Oleshky is a Ukrainian city on the Russian-occupied side of the Dnipro River, opposite Kherson. Since being seized by Russian forces in 2022, it has been turned to rubble and cut off from the world. Yet thousands of civilians, including children, remain. They are said to be living without electricity, running water and regular food supplies. Residents have confirmed to Sky News that many people are boiling grass to survive. Russia does not permit independent media to enter the city, but chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay's special report reveals harrowing details of life inside. He's gained access to exclusive drone footage showing the scale of the decimation and secured a rare, emotional interview with a resident.
From Vatican News today: Pope Leo XIV named Papal Confrater of St George’s Chapel, Windsor The appointment follows King Charles III’s acceptance of the title of Royal Confrater of the Papal Basilica of St Paul’s Outside the Walls in Rome during his State Visit to the Holy See in October 2025. Vatican News Pope Leo XIV has become Papal Confrater of the College of St George at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, with the approval of King Charles III, the Dean and Canons of Windsor announced on Friday, 23 October. According to the announcement, the appointment represents “a visible sign of spiritual fellowship, ecumenical friendship and Christian fraternity”. It recognises the centuries-old relationship between the College and Chapel of St George and the Holy See, as well as progress in relations between the Catholic Church, the Church of England and the Anglican Communion. The appointment also reflects the mutual esteem between Pope Leo XIV and King Charles III and their shared desire for Christian unity, the announcement states. The announcement comes one year after the State Visit to the Holy See by King Charles III and Queen Camilla, during which the King was welcomed as Royal Confrater of the Papal Basilica and Abbey of St Paul’s Outside the Walls in Rome. 23/10/2025 King Charles receives Royal Confrater title as sign of 'hope' with Anglican Communion Reciprocal appointments On 23 October 2025, during the State Visit, the King was welcomed as Royal Confrater by the Archpriest of the Papal Basilica and the Abbot of St Paul’s Outside the Walls, with the approval of Pope Leo XIV. Before the mid-sixteenth century, the Kings of England had a historic role in relation to St Paul’s Outside the Walls, the announcement notes. In response, and with the approval of the King and the support of the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Dean and Canons of Windsor invited Pope Leo XIV to become Papal Confrater of the College and Chapel of St George. The Pope has accepted the invitation. The announcement describes the reciprocal appointments as tangible expressions of spiritual fellowship and a shared commitment to Christian unity. It also recalls the separation between the Catholic Church and the Church of England following the Reformation under King Henry VIII. “Mindful of the value of Christian unity, in an increasingly polarised and turbulent world, the King and the Pope have joined together in Christian brotherhood and, for the first time in half a millennium, are receiving religious titles which underscore what unites rather than what separates the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England,” the statement says. Chairs and mosaic icon to mark the appointments Specially commissioned chairs have been created for the two religious institutions to mark the appointments. The chair presented to King Charles III has been placed beside the monastic stalls at St Paul’s Outside the Walls. A corresponding chair for Pope Leo XIV will be unveiled at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in due course. Later this autumn, the King is due to attend a service at St George’s Chapel during which a mosaic icon of the Christ of Cefalù, gifted to him by Pope Leo XIV during the State Visit, will be dedicated and installed in the South Quire Aisle.
"In a 500-year milestone, Pope Leo XIV accepted the title of Papal Confrater of St George’s Chapel with King Charles's approval. Buckingham Palace said it reflects their "deep mutual esteem" and "shared desire for Christian unity" between the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England."
I would believe nothing, nothing, from a Trumpian source. It’s very possible that the Pope might be able to achieve a deal with Putin. In that case, the prospect of Trump trying to steal the credit, in this case via his wife, would be just another theft, of many, on his part. No worse than bombing Iranian civilians in order to profit on the consequential fluctuation of oil prices, I concede.
