Rationing?

I got the strongest intuition this morning praying my rosary - fuel rationing and food rationing.

There may even be more lockdowns.

 

Oh I don't know what to say. Is it better to think about it or not to think about it? But I suppose we have to be prudent. I must admit I was thinking of what I could buy in without going mad. Maybe rice, pasta, canned meats. I must make the effort. Heather is a chef I must ask her. I know she has bought in a lot of stuff herself.

 

In this situation, it is good that you are single, Padraig, and have primarily pets to be concerned about. Growing families, like Purpleflower's, who are faithful Catholics (as are 3 of my children) are those most likely to be dealing with even more stress! Praise God for the Two Hearts and intercessory prayer such as our Rosaries!

Still, I need reminders everyday!

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your path!

I have a strong prayerful feeling that people are being called into Christian communities at this present time. It will be very difficult for individuals or families to make it alone.

 

I definitely feel it coming.

 

Back in the latter half of 2020, God taught me an interesting lesson that I have held onto for the future.

I was worrying about the times we all believed were coming, foreshadowed by empty store shelves during Covid. We didn't have extra money to stock up on lbs of pantry staples. I was sitting on the living room floor with my baby in my lap praying about this, while my son watched a Bible cartoon. On the TV, Moses struck a rock, and water flowed from it for the thirsty Israelites in the wilderness. I prayed silently, "If there was no more water, would You provide for us? Would You do miracles?" At that moment, I looked down at my baby and saw that on the toy he was playing with, written in marker, was the word "Miracle." We have no idea, to this day, who wrote that or why. But I felt in my heart that God was saying yes, radical trust in Him would produce miracles. We didn't have to have a well or fully-stocked pantry to survive, if God wanted us to survive.

I told this story in a small group I was in on Facebook at the time, saying I was at peace with not being able to stock up...and unbeknownst to me, a famous, wealthy radio host was in that group. She privately messaged me and not only insisted on providing me with large bags of pantry staples, but pushed me hard to leave the city. That night I lay in bed praying to God about what she had told me, not knowing whether God was telling me through her to move to the country, or if she was just a bit overzealous, lol. I told God, "It's going to be very difficult to convince my husband to move to the country. If this is what You want, if this is coming from You, please send him a dream about moving, like you sent dreams to St. Joseph." Then I went to sleep.

The next morning, my husband rolled over and said, "I had a really vivid dream last night. I dreamed that your sister moved to the country, into a mobile home, and she was really happy and telling me how great it was." At the same time, I received a text from my sister, saying there was a place in the country she had just discovered, with two mobile homes on it, and she wanted us to go out and look at it with her.

We did go look at the place, and though we didn't feel it was where we were meant to be, my husband and I found ourselves standing in front of a plaque on the wall that said, "Do not be discouraged; do not be afraid. For I will be with you, wherever you go." That was to stick in our minds and be of comfort to us over a very stressful next couple years, trying to find our home. Oh, and the dog that lived at that place had the same name as the radio host, lol.

In the end, my husband and I bought 10 acres and built a house in the country, and my sister and her family followed us out and did end up buying a mobile home on 10 acres shared with my dad, right next to a small faithful Catholic church that was instrumental in bringing both her husband and my dad back to the Faith.

So here we all are, and while I do have a well, I still don't have a stocked pantry or silver or gold (we eventually ate up all the bags of rice and beans, lol)... but I learned that God absolutely does provide through miracles and guidance from others. I no longer have any fear or anxiety about such things because I have seen firsthand what God does for those who trust Him.

And the bigger lesson I learned during all that, was that God wants us to focus more on the things of His kingdom than on providing for our temporal needs. Our business is saving souls. Another dream I had during that time was that the city was on fire. My children and I were running from the city as fire consumed everything around us. We crossed some railroad tracks and came to a white home in the country that I knew in my heart to be ours (in fact, we did end up moving to a white house so close to the railroad tracks we can hear the trains' wheels thundering down the rails). We went inside and climbed in bed and I was holding my children tight as we thanked God for bringing us to safety....when all of a sudden all kinds of wounded people began pouring into my house, surrounding our bed, with bandages around their heads or arms, leaning on crutches....and I knew in my heart like I knew that was our home that these were people wounded spiritually who needed prayers. They all approached and said, "What about us? Will you save us too?"

So I knew, that getting my family to physical and even spiritual safety is not enough. Our real mission is to help Jesus save the world...not just flee to a sanctuary while the world burns.

 

I think we should nickname you "Josephine", though you've never mentioned a coat of many colors!

 

Well...I'm no one's favorite, and my coat is only blue.

I hope this doesn't sound too fishy, but my wife and I recently set up what's called "a trust account" with one of the reputable banks in the area. I won't go into detail, but this involves a fair amount of money. Suddenly the bank is giving us a hard time because the trust was set up jointly. I spoke with a close friend with credentials who stated that similar difficulties are surfacing in certain banks elsewhere, too. There appears to be an attempt to establish tighter standardized policies in the financial system all over.

I believe that even in the West, strict controls over our citizens, like those enforced in China, are in the offing to quickly and ultimately prepare the way for JoeJerk's servant. We are soon to be seriously maneuvered in a direction of subservience, to which we each must choose a path of quiet resistance or not. It is obvious in China, but is the West resisting or not far behind?

 

I bet your hubby would disagree with above highlight!

 

Yes, John, AI can chat in such an informative and easy-going fashion. I believe many homebound will soon claim the companionship of AI is a lifesaver. Why bother calling the local parish to arrange a visit from clergy or friend?

I do agree that the stage is being set sooner than we think! Deception is deep!

I do believe this is what St. Therese meant when she quoted (I think it was) the Song of Songs:

"Draw me, Lord, and we will run after you in the odour of your annointments."

It did not say, "draw me and I will run ...". No, we take others with us provided we allow the Lord to take us.

One other thing, PurpleFlower. You don't have to respond if you rather not - obviously; when you pray like that to the Lord do you use words vocally or are you praying interiorly without any words, trusting that God can read our hearts, our inner thoughts, intentions and petitions?

 

Both...it just depends on the moment, I guess.

 

This is such a powerful post. Thank you for telling us about it.you are a real witness to the Providence of God. I believe in it with all my heart--that God is with us and will provide. I went through a prepper phase but have dialed back on it. We have to be prudent obviously like the woman of Proverbs. But we can't get too intense. Mark Mallet said way back in the day-- have enough for God to multiply. I like that insight. Fr Reehil has some amazing stories of God multiplying food. He witnessed first hand.

I have a wonderfulrecent experience to relate. Friends of ours found themselves es financially under water with a building they had purchased and they are in their 80's and worrying was just eating them up. They are not Catholic. The wife is a nominal Methodist but neither are religious. One morning a few weeks ago I was finishing my morning offero g and looked over at my statue of St Joseph by my bed. A very strong nudge/inner voice said" "take this to Jean with the novena prayer to sell the building"
I hesitated because they aren't too faith aware but I took a deep breath and called her. I yold her the urge I had to bring her St Joseph and the novena prayer. She was not enthusiastic but agreed. I took it to her and explained about his powerful intercession and how he takes care of families. How my son's house recently sold after making a 30 day novena to St Joseph. She took the prayer and the statue.i told her to just puts Joseph in the building--no burying or anything and then say the prayer for 9 days.
I saw her yesterday by chance. She said week and a half after she started the prayer ( 9 days!!!!) They had a cash offer. No inspection desited( the place needed very expensive work done) and they just closed a few days ago. She was ecstatic. She asked if she could keep the statue. I saId sure. She says " I am still praying you him." So I just praised God and thanked St Joseph and prayed they would be led into the Church.

 

St Joseph will never refuse us. Wonderful of you to follow God's sign and do that.

 

Wonderful! My Baptist aunt recently was struggling to sell her home and ended up praying to St. Joseph even though she doesn't believe in praying to saints....and he helped her right away! She and her son live with my dad now and he has a few pictures of St. Joseph in his house. I'm hoping St. Joseph will be the gateway for her coming into the true Faith one day!

 

I think Fr Calloway is right when he says we are now in the age of St Joseph.
