All that huge amount of money and resource into synodality that has practically bankrupted the Church. What have we got back from it all? That is indeed the bottom line. Nothing but trouble.

Possibly a response to the Bishop's comments discussed in the video above but this was posted on Totus Tuus Fb page today: "Around the year 490, on Monte Gargano in southern Italy, a wealthy landowner found his lost bull kneeling at the entrance of a mysterious cave. When he shot an arrow at the animal, the arrow miraculously reversed and wounded him instead. Bishop Lorenzo Maiorano of Siponto ordered three days of prayer and fasting. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!” 26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm. 27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!” Suppose you went back in a time machine and were living with Jesus and the Apostles. You notice Judas and how he is stealing money from the common fund. You grow more and more suspicious about his behaviour and goings on. You understand he is not a true follower but a traitor who can only mean harm. You start to talk more and more about Judas with the other disciples and are totally scandalised by him. But the thing is Jesus and Mary knew all about Judas. None of this was hidden from them. They were dealing with it. It is the same with the Church today. A Great storm has come to the Barque of Peter and Jesus appears to be sleeping. But He is far from sleeping and neither is Mary His mother. They are taking care of things in their own way and their own time. We were sent to Earth to work out our own salvation. None of us will be sent to hell because of the sins of other people. I think there is a real danger of getting too obsessed with all that is going on , to such an extent that we become distracted from our own sins and filings. Bishops and Cardinals and priests are different they have a duty as shepherds to protect their flocks. But we lay people , unless we have some special calling are not shepherds. I mean not to get to caught up in the storm. It is good to have a general sense of the general agenda of Rome and have a sense of the directions of things. But unless we have some special calling from God not to go whacking ourselves over the head all the time about it. Just to pray. For myself I have found a real deep peace and assurance about it all. There is a storm and Jesus appears to be sleeping. But the Church is his Bride and He will take care of her.
