I have been watching a series called, 'Magnificent century', on utube from Turkish TV. It focuses on the 16th century when the Ottomon Empire nearly took over Europe. A lot of it focuses on the Topaki Palace and the goings on in the harem which I once visited and walked around.. When the old Sultan dies the new Sultan has to kill all his brothers, It is the law. These are the boys , his brothers his whole young life. They all know as they are growing up that only one of them will survive. The mothers of all these boys know that one one boy will live that their own children will probably die. What is more all the women in the harem enter as sex slaves. One thing surprised me, the women Christian slaves were not forced to become Muslim. Though there was a lot of pressure on them to do so. But they were forced to have sex. So strange another World.

Under such conditions they can never be wrong or do anything for which they should be held accountable. It's like a kind of addiction of feeling sorry for themselves to the point that any damage they cause should be acceptable. But even if this were allowed, these same women would still not be happy. They in fact are never happy. Personally, I pray something wakes these women out of their stupor.
This so called feminism has all but destroyed western culture. It became a battering ram to break through God's established laws. It has run rough shod through marriage and the family leaving tragedy in its wake. It has destroyed vocations in the Church. Powerhouses of prayer--contemplative orders have all but disappeared. Nursing orders have dwindled. Teaching orders of nuns have all but disappeared. Its been wholesale destruction.
Yes, very true in all respects. The underlying temptation in feminism I believe is faith in a kind of liberation. Once the "patriarchy" is gone then we will have freedom. The "patriarchy" being defined as what ever is convenient at the time, such that goalposts can be moved as wanted. Currently meaning accountability for murder of their own children is part of the patriarchy. It's like feminists want to be freed of being women, because having and raising children is part of being a woman. Very similar to the revolt of the Reformation and the enlightenment. Whose fruits are ultimately atheism and death. Today, feminists have captured society in all respects and are still not happy. These are terrifying words aren't they. To deliberately choose the lie and thus the Liar himself. I used to wonder in my naivete why anyone would say no to eternity with Jesus in heaven but would choose instead to go to hell. But now I see rebellion is a toxic brew. CS Lewis does a good job presenting this in The Great Divorce. How desperately we need the grace of God at every moment. We dont stay on the narrow path on our own. Thats for sure.
I agree, although I believe this tendency toward victimhood is a plague that applies to men and women right now.
I agree, in that victimhood is the drug of choice currently for many peoples, minotities and groups. Which I also believe leads ultimately to communism. However, victimhood is the primary drug of choice of feminists and there is nothing remotely close to feminism on the part of straight men in general. Feminism is what has shaped society into what it is today. See the Twitter link above I posted. That being said, many men have been co-opted by feminism as well.
True, but the root of feminism and victimhood in general is selfishness--what should people be doing for me, instead of what can I do for others.... What will make me happy? These constant thoughts breed discontent and endless complaining, which seems to be prevalent across the board.
I think it is ultimately rooted in envy. Scripture says it was through the devil's envy that sin came into the world. He is the original "victim"---He wanted what he couldn't have and pulled all of creation down with him. Envy and pride go hand in hand.
I think selfishness and envy go hand in hand in regards to victimhood. As well as an inability to address one's own failures/weaknesses personally and collectively in an honest manner. Zimbabwe blamed white farmers for all their problems. Once gone, the country spiralled down into abject poverty because those white farmers provided 90% of the income for the nation. South Africa is facing a similar reckoning.
