I saw this lovely photograph on Fb earlier.
It was taken yesterday evening in Clontarf, Dublin.
The strange thing is, I've lived in Dublin all my life and didn't know about this Statue before seeing the photo and reading a little about it's background.
The Irish Dockworkers had the idea in 1950 to construct this tribute to the Blessed Mother for the Marian Year in 1954.
They hadn't raised enough money to do so at the time, so it would be some years later, in 1972, before the project was completed.
The Statue rests on three white concrete and marble pillars and is about 70 feet (c.21m) high.
The twelve stars surrounding Our Lady were made by Waterford Glass.
As it happens we're just back from a short visit to Waterford, where we did a tour of the Waterford Glass factory, which was great to see.

Our Lady Star of the Sea, pray for us.

Stunning. I never knew about this statue either. I'm from Waterford so the connection with this makes me happy.

Just had a couple of very enjoyable days in Waterford city. We hadn't been there since many years ago when we used to travel down to visit my uncle who was a member of the Brothers of Charity and in later years was based in Belmont, Ferrybank before going into a nursing home just outside the city centre.
There were some noticable changes since
we were there last. Up around
the Viking triangle and various other museums and exhibitions to enjoy.

We won a trip to Waterford in 2013 for The Gathering, wish I'd seen this! Loved attending Mass at Trinity Cathedral and making a pilgrimage to Knock

The Cathedral is wonderful. The oldest Catholic Cathedral in Ireland.
BTW, the Statue of Our Lady is in Dublin.
The connection with Waterford is that the 12 stars surrounding the Blessed Mother were made by Waterford Glass.
