I wish to share this article, by Kristor (a very faithful Catholic). Not only is the article itself excellent, but some of Kristor’s comments beneath it are perfectly sublime: https://orthosphere.wordpress.com/2026/07/14/reflections-on-the-apostolic-succession/
His comments are "perfectly sublime", but sadly so. What I currently struggle with in the Church of today is what I perceive to be incongruity between my understanding of the Deposit of Faith and the actions of the hierarchy. But then, "Who am I to assert such an opinion?" And to what purpose? My opinion has no impact on eventual outcomes. Best to simply pray, place myself in the arms of the Virgin Mary, and serve those in my local sphere of influence.
I thought his comments hopeful despite the state of the hierarchy. At root, he pins his hopes in Christ and not imperfect men. He is also optimistic that when the scythe of Death cuts down the 'hippy' generation of bishops, the replacements are going to be traditional and conservative, the opposite of modernists. Of course, the Church might have to be rescusitated, even resurrected, by that point. But, hey, didn't something like that happen before?
