This is so protestant on the part of the SSPX. So they don’t want to follow the rules they just break away and do their own thing. How sad is that, they should know better. They are living in this world, not preparing for the next. I wonder if those who stay with the Pope will be the remnant? Our Blessed Mother said to Not abandon the ship.

Personally, I am rarely able to attend Mass, but I am close to the SSPX. My sister and her family belong to a parish; I used to be a member of it too.
There are some believers who would have preferred not to have the bishops consecrated.
But there is simply a practical necessity. Two bishops for parishes all over the world is not enough.

I do not know what the ‘synodal Church’ is supposed to be. A Church that welcomes everyone, except those who wish to continue what the Church taught and practised until a few decades ago?

Without the SSPX, the tradition would disappear. It might perhaps survive for a short while through the FSSP and others. But I am also intimately familiar with FSSP parishes, and I know that they sometimes have to bite their tongues. Criticising abuses may result in the local bishop taking the church building away from you.

The Vatican is not concerned with the SSPX in particular; its aim is to let the tradition die out.

What I have not the slightest doubt about, with regard to all the priests of the SSPX, and indeed the bishops as well, is that their sole intention in everything they do is the salvation of souls.
I am not so sure about the Vatican in this regard.

In case it hasn’t been posted here yet – a three-part documentary series has been running for few weeks.

It is all about the salvation of souls:
    Traditio - Part I: A work of faith – becoming a priest
Traditio - Part II: A work of hope – being a missionary
Traditio - Part III: A work of love – giving one’s life

    God bless

I do think the situation in the Church was very different when Fr. Gobbi received this message in Knock (1988). However, it is interesting that Our Lady said that the goings-on of many bishops was a greater and more dangerous deviation than even that of Lefebvre's. I wish I knew what Our Lady is saying to Fr. Gobbi now although I suspect unity would be paramount.

    385. WITH THE FAITH OF PETER
    (JUNE 29, 1988)
    Shrine of Knock (Ireland)
Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul
"Beloved sons, enlighten the earth with the light of Christ. Beloved sons, bring all people to Christ with the faith of Peter.
It was upon Peter alone that Christ founded His Church. It was for Peter alone that Jesus prayed that His faith remain ever intact. It was to Peter alone that the Lord entrusted the task of confirming His brothers in the faith.
Today you are celebrating the Solemnity of the Holy Apostles, Peter and Paul, during this Marian Year, consecrated to me.
As a sorrowful and concerned Mother, I urge you all to look today to the successor of Peter, Pope John Paul II. He is my Pope. He is the Pope who has been formed by me in the depths of my Immaculate Heart. He is the Pope of my great light, in these times of greatest darkness.
With the faith of Peter, he is enlightening the earth and confirming all the Church in the truth. The Pope today, as a new Peter, is reaffirming the total faith in Christ the Son of God and, as a new Paul, is going to every part of the world to proclaim with courage his Gospel of salvation.
Support the Pope by your filial unity. Pray for him, suffer with him, love him, surround him with a powerful force of humble and courageous obedience.
The heart of the Pope is bleeding today because of one Bishop of the holy Church of God who, through an arbitrary episcopal ordination carried out against his will, is opening up a painful schism in the Catholic Church.
But this is only the beginning. In fact many bishops are, as of the present time, no longer united with the Pope and are moving along a road which is opposed to that which he is pointing out. This is a greater and more dangerous deviation, even if it is not yet visible, and one which gives pain to my motherly Heart and causes it to bleed and, as it were, causes my Pope to fall under the weight of a cross which is too heavy.
I have prepared you so that you may help him carry his great cross. For this, the hour has come when there must appear, in all its force and its splendor, the great army which, in silence and in hiddenness, I have been forming for myself during these years in every part of the world, through my Marian Movement of Priests, for the defense and the strong support of the Pope.
Thus there is beginning to be delineated clearly the plan of the little flock, which will remain faithful to Christ and to His Church, guarded whole and entire in the garden of my Immaculate Heart."

Fr. Gobbi's messages are heretical. In one message the "Blessed Mother" told Father Gobbi he would be immolated on the altar for the salvation of the world.
Im redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ- not Father Gobbi's made up messages

As indeed he and many have been immolated. So that they make up in their body that which is lacking in the sufferings of Christ (St. Paul on redemptive suffering).

I have often written here that a truly free market does not exist in economics. It is a classic form of manipulation in which the top 1% simply remain in control. The reason is obvious: they want to preserve their power and wealth. It is much easier to manipulate the system when you have money than to work diligently.

Now look at the same pattern in the Church. Wouldn't it be more practical to say: "The Second Vatican Council created a modern Church that opened itself to the world. Unfortunately, many churches today tolerate and adapt themselves to the demands of society, distort certain teachings, even tolerate same-sex marriages, alter Christ's teaching, and as a result their churches are empty, there are very few new vocations, and in many places the churches are becoming little more than museums."

On the other hand, the traditional Church has preserved the older form of the liturgy, which many in the modern world consider outdated. Yet young people are flocking to these communities, the churches are full, and there are many priestly and religious vocations. Wouldn't it make sense, in the spirit of a kind of "market competition," to give both approaches ten years and see which one, as Jesus said, truly bears fruit? The one that is from God will endure.

But that will never happen because many people do not truly seek the good of Christ's Church or work for its benefit.

Let me mention one historical fact. Throughout the history of the Church, out of approximately 266 deceased popes, only 81 have been declared saints, and remarkably, 52 of the first 54 popes were canonized. Before Pope Pius XII canonized Pope Pius X in 1954, no pope had been canonized for more than 300 years.

Interestingly, Pope John XXIII and Pope Paul VI—the first two popes who convened and concluded the Second Vatican Council—were both canonized relatively quickly. Why is this significant? Because if a pope who is recognized as a saint convened or guided a council, many people will naturally conclude that the council itself, together with its reforms, must also be holy and good. The only thing they have not done is declare the Council itself a dogma.

If the Church were now to make major concessions to traditionalists, it could be seen by some as admitting that serious mistakes had been made. And if mistakes had indeed been made, that would also raise questions about the decisions associated with two popes whom the Church itself has proclaimed saints.

Personally, I have always believed that Catholics should remain faithful to Christ and to the See of Peter, and that is also my position in this matter. At the same time, facts should be acknowledged, because, as Jesus said, a tree is known by its fruits. No matter how much some may try to suppress it, if it is God's will, He will eventually lead the Church back toward a stronger appreciation of tradition. In the end, the Church belongs to Him, not to us.

It is surprising to me that the Popes since the recent Vatican Council (John XXIII, Paul VI, and John Paul II ) have all been readily canonized. Even Leo XIV has spoken of Pope Francis as if he were already in Heaven.

It borders on being presumptuous to me! (I am not presuming any of them are in Hell).

This strikes me as reinforcing a perception that the post-Conciliar Church has reached new heights of grace, and what went before has only prepared the way. We must be humble. I always tremble at the prophecy of Alphonsus Liguori on the Abomination of Desolation. If that comes soon, then the last 60 years will be like a walk through the park!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!

  9. InVeritatem

    InVeritatem Archangels

Here is the SSPX's own declaration of Catholic Faith. It was published in May in preparation for the consecrations and, as it seems to me, a pushback against the direction the 'Conciliar' Church has been going.

    DECLARATION OF CATHOLIC FAITH

In the Name of Our Lord Jesus Christ, divine Wisdom, the Word Incarnate, Who willed one sole religion, Who rendered the Old Covenant definitively null and void, Who founded one sole Church, Who triumphed over Satan, Who conquered the world, Who remains with us until the end of time and Who shall come again to judge the living and the dead.

He, the perfect Image of the Father, the Son of God made man, was appointed the sole Redeemer and Saviour of the world through the Incarnation and the voluntary offering of the Sacrifice of the Cross. Our Lord satisfied divine justice by shedding His Most Precious Blood, and it is in that Blood that He established the New and Eternal Covenant, abolishing the Old. He is therefore the sole Mediator between God and men and the sole way to come to the Father. Only he who knows Him knows the Father.

By divine decree, the Most Holy Virgin Mary has been directly and intimately associated with the entire work of Redemption; to deny this association — in the terms received from Tradition — is therefore to alter the very notion of Redemption as willed by divine Providence.
[It would seem to me that the SSPX are well on the way to recognising Our Lady as Co-Redemptorix or the 5th Marian Dogma]

There is only one Faith and one Church by which we may be saved. Outside the Roman Catholic Church, and without the profession of Faith that she has always taught, there is neither salvation nor remission of sins.

Consequently, every man must be a member of the Catholic Church in order to save his soul, and there is but one baptism as the means of being incorporated into her. This necessity concerns the whole of humanity without exception and embraces without distinction Christians, Jews, Muslims, pagans, and atheists.
[Definitely a rejection of the notion that "all religions are paths to God" or Bishop Barron's notion of "the priveleged way".]

The mandate received by the Apostles, to preach the Gospel to every man and to convert every man to the Catholic Faith, remains binding until the end of time and responds to the most absolute and most pressing necessity in the world. “He that believeth and is baptized, shall be saved: but he that believeth not shall be condemned.”3 Therefore, to renounce the fulfilment of this mandate constitutes the gravest of crimes against humanity.
[So on the one hand Pope Leo has said that the sundering of Church unity is a sin of extreme gravity. On the other hand the SSPX are pointing out that if the Church's mandate to convert the whole of humanity is not being constantly implemented, it constitutes THE gravest of crimes against humanity.]

The Roman Church alone possesses simultaneously the four marks that characterize the Church founded by Jesus Christ: Unity, Holiness, Catholicity, and Apostolicity.

Her unity flows essentially from the adherence of all her members to the one true Faith, faithfully preserved, taught, and handed down by the Catholic hierarchy throughout the centuries.

[So unity, according to the SSPX, cannot simply be accomplished by obedience to the Holy Roman Pontiff but by adherence to the one true Faith. So by that reckoning they apparently justify their lack of communion with the Pope and the College of Bishops united to him.]

The denial of even a single truth of the Faith destroys faith itself and renders radically impossible all communion with the Catholic Church.
[This is some of the strongest pushback immaginable. Hard to see, as HeavenlyHosts said, how face to face meetings can produce a quick result. This also seems to place the schismatic act on the 'Conciliar' Church, if it is true that they deny any truth of Faith, and it places the SSPX in the category of 'The Catholic Church'.]

The only possible path to restoring unity among Christians of different confessions consists in the urgent and charitable appeal addressed to non-Catholics to profess the one true Faith within the one true Church.
[When do we ever see that happening in ecumenical dialogue? Proselytism? It seems the primacy of the individual's conscience also takes a back seat in the traditional doctrine of the SSPX. ]

The Catholic Church can in no way be regarded or treated on an equal footing with a false form of worship or a false church.

The Roman Pontiff, the Vicar of Christ, is the sole possessor of supreme authority over the whole Church. He alone directly confers on the other members of the Catholic hierarchy jurisdiction over souls.
[Not sure how the SSPX square this with their disobedience?]

The Holy Ghost was not promised to the successors of Peter that they might make known, by His revelation, a new doctrine, but that, by His assistance, they might inviolably keep and faithfully expound the revelation transmitted by the Apostles, that is, the Deposit of the Faith.”4

To a unique Faith there corresponds a unique form of worship, the supreme, authentic, and perfect expression of that same Faith.

The Holy Mass is the perpetuation in time of the Sacrifice of the Cross, offered for many and renewed upon the altar. Although offered in an unbloody manner, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is essentially expiatory and propitiatory. No other form of worship offers perfect adoration. No other form of worship that is not ordered to it is pleasing to God. No other means is sufficient for the sanctification of souls.

Consequently, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass can in no way be reduced to a mere commemoration, to a spiritual meal, to a sacred assembly celebrated by the people, to the celebration of the Paschal mystery without sacrifice, without satisfaction of divine justice, without expiation of sins, without propitiation, and without the Cross.

The help afforded to souls by the Sacraments of the Catholic Church is sufficient in every circumstance and in every age to enable the faithful to live in a state of grace.

The moral law contained in the Decalogue and perfected in the Sermon on the Mount is the only one practicable for obtaining the salvation of souls. Every other moral code — founded, for example, on respect for creation or on the rights of the human person — is radically insufficient to sanctify and save souls. In no way can it replace the one true moral law.

Following the example of St. John the Baptist, true charity obliges us to warn sinners and never to renounce the means necessary to save their souls.

[So in essence all the emphasis on the dignity of every human person, their right to practice their own religion according to their own conscience, adherence to UN and WHO principles, care of creation and environment, sustainable development goals, you name it - is a manifestation of a lack of charity it due to its primacy over warning sinners and the salvation of souls.]

He who eats the Body of Our Lord and drinks His Blood whilst in a state of sin eats and drinks his own condemnation, and no authority can alter this law contained in the teaching of St. Paul and in Tradition.

Sins of impurity that are against nature are of such gravity that they always and in every circumstance cry to God for vengeance, and are radically incompatible with every form of authentic Christian love. Such a ‘lifestyle’ can therefore in no way be recognized as a gift from God. A couple practising this vice must be helped to free themselves from it, and can in no way be blessed — formally or informally — by ministers of the Church
    .
["Who am I to judge" will not cut it here.]

The submission of institutions and nations, as such, to the authority of Our Lord Jesus Christ flows directly from the Incarnation and the Redemption. Therefore, secularism of institutions and nations constitutes an implicit denial of the divinity and universal kingship of Our Lord.

Christendom is not a mere historical phenomenon, but the only order willed by God among men.

It is not for the Church to conform herself to the world, but for the world to be transformed by the Church.

It is in this Faith and in these principles that we ask to be instructed and confirmed by Him Who has received the charism to do so. With the help of Our Lord, we would rather die than renounce them. It is in this immutable Faith that we desire to live and die, in the hope that it may give way to the direct vision of the immutable eternal Truth
    .
[The SSPX are according to themselves still waiting to be instructed and confirmed in this Faith just outlined by the Pope.]

Father Gobbi is not imolated for my salvation. Suffering and immolation are two completely different verbs. The word used was Father Gobbi will be "immolated" on the altars for the salvation of the world. Not suffering as you refered to St. Paul. Father Gobbi was never immolated (killed or destroyed) on an altar for the salvation of the world

I think "immolate" can also be used figuratively in the sense of sacrifice of oneself for a greater cause. Perhaps it was meant in that way.

Yes indeed. And we are all called to die to ourselves - to be immolated or destroyed. When we were baptised did we not go into the tomb with Christ. We have to die so that we can say with St. Paul, it is not I who live but Christ who lives in me.

In message 119 of Fr. Gobbi, Our Lady says: "As I did with my Child Jesus, so too with you I present myself in the Holy Temple of God, and I offer you as a holocaust to the Father to satisfy His divine justice". This is accepted theology in the Catholic tradition. St. Therese of the Child Jesus, recognised this form of oblation and went one further by offering herself as a holocaust, not to the divine justice of God, but to His merciful love (see her Act of Oblation).

Also, as Fr. Gobbi was a priest of the Order of Melchisedek who offered the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on the alters of the world (he did travel extensively) one can say he was "immolated on the altars".

The "Blessed Mother" said Fr. Gobbi "will be immolated on the altars for the salvation of the world" Not for a "greater cause" but for "the salvation of the world" which is heresy. Father Gobbi was not immolated (killed or destroyed) on any altar. What teaching is it that are we supposed to be immolated on altars for the salvation of the world in our bapstisms? Not catjolic doctrine at all. Father Gobbi is a Priest who offered Jesus Christ to the Father on the altars of the world- NOT Father Gobbi HIMSELF being immolated or ourselves.

Further to my point above, the whole point of offering oneself to God as an oblation is to do it for the salvation of souls. Read St. Therese's book, The Story of a Soul. This is what numerous religious communities do throughout the world (especially the Carmelites). They offer themselves as an oblation for the salvation of souls.

He united himself and his sufferings to Christ in the chalice on the altar. This is part of the theology of the Body of Christ. Perhaps you are not aware of it. Anyway, some believe in Fr. Gobbi's revelations and some don't, just like for many apparitions and locutions in the Church, regardless of whether they are approved or not. I offer that reflection for those who are disposed to receive it.

I was suggesting that the use of the word immolation may have been intended figuratively not in the literal "killed / destroyed" sense you gave it in a post above.
I haven't read Fr. Gobbi's messages but is it not the case that the priest (whoever it may be) is "immolated" on the altar in Persona Christi, when offering the sacrifice of the Mass.

Do you read the message at all. Father Gobbi was not called to suffer in the message as a carmelite or be an oblation. The message say "he is to be immolated on an altar for the for the salvation of the world." How do you interpret that any other way.
