From the Fb page of Sr. Julia Mary Darrenkamp Fsp. "I know I’ve told my story so many times before…but once more, because it fits! I read, totally by accident, The Song of Bernadette when I was a 13 year old Protestant bookworm. I became Catholic a year later, and entered the convent three years after that. But the seed of that abundant grace-filled journey began with reading the story of Our Lady of Lourdes and St. Bernadette’s introduction of Mary. I was enamored, enchanted, totally smitten, as only a tween can be. And thankfully, I never quite recovered. And how that story fits? That lovely book sitting on my bookshelf is The Lady From Heaven. My thirteen-year-old self would have thought she died and went to heaven to have a copy of it! Fourteen illustrated stories of Mary’s apparitions around the word, including Lourdes, Guadalupe, Fatima, Knock, but also recent ones like Kibeho, Cuapa, And Betania. This is not THE Mary Book- you know, the one I’ve been working on for what seems like forever! That one will be available October 2027. But this is an awfully nice prelude. Written by Sr. Patricia Edward, a fellow sister and good friend for intermediate level readers (or as we used to say: for ages 9-90). I read it on my retreat and found myself falling in love with the stories all over again. There is also a diagram of how to pray the rosary at the back of the book. In any case, it’s a gem of a book and a sweet introduction for children (for your family and for yourself) to the most beautiful, powerful, loving Queen of Heaven. And it will be available on July 16th- Feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel (also included in the book!) I think everyone should know more about the Blessed Mother. And this is such a good place to start."
