I’ve had the idea for a long time of creating a series of Rosary mysteries for every day of the week, but I was never able to come up with a good list. After my morning Rosary, I’ve come up with these mysteries. I’ve got some of them off the internet but the rest of the new ones are my idea. Besides the title I’ve listed things that come to mind when I think of them. Monday - The Hopeful Mysteries Creation of the World - the seven days of creation, Adam and Eve, the Garden of Eden The Promise of Redemption - the Fall, the promise of a New Adam and a New Eve, Cain and Abel The Covenant of Noe - the deluge, the Ark, the rainbow, the covenant of peace The Covenant of Abraham - the promise of numerous descendants, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph The Covenant of Moses - the Burning Bush, the Passover, Crossing the Red Sea, the Ten Commandments Tuesday - The Hidden Mysteries The Immaculate Conception - her Immaculate Conception, Mary’s sinlessness, the graces present in her since the first moment of her existence The Nativity of Mary - her painless entry into the world, the virtues of Joachim and Anne The Presentation of Mary - Our Lady’s humility, her obedience to God’s will, her years of service in the temple, her vow of perpetual virginity The Espousal of Mary and Joseph - God’s revelation that she is to marry, her obedience, the virtues of St. Joseph, the miraculous manner in which he was selected, their perpetual virginity The Annunciation to Zechariah - the miraculous conception and birth of the Precursor, the value of obeying God, the virtues of St. John the Baptist, the canticle of Zechariah Wednesday - The Joyful Mysteries The Annunciation - the fact that Our Lady never imagined herself to be the Mother of God, the meaning of “Full of Grace”, the title of “Handmaid of the Lord”, the Incarnation, the Hypostatic Union The Visitation - the charity of Our Lady, the greeting of St. Elizabeth, the sanctification of St. John the Baptist, the Magnificat The Nativity - the humility of Jesus and Mary, the miraculous birth of Christ, the perpetual virginity of Mary, her first words to Her Son, the adoration of Mary and Joseph to Jesus, the adoration of the Shepherds The Presentation - the canticle of the Simeon, the sorrow of Mary, the acceptance by Jesus and Mary of the Sacrifice of the Cross, the poverty of the Holy Family The Holy Family(*) - the love between the members, their charity towards others, their spirit of prayer, their perfect practices of virtue, the happy death of St. Joseph (*) I know this is a change but to me when I meditate on the finding in the Temple I find myself just thinking about the Holy Family. I am not suggesting that this be officially changed. Thursday - The Luminous Mysteries The Baptism of Jesus - Christ’s humility, the descent of the Holy Spirit, the Voice of the Father, His institution of this Sacrament, the Baptisms of St. John, His Disciples, and His Mother The Proclamation of the Kingdom of God - the miracle of water into wine, the Sermon on the Mount, all His teachings, His healing miracles The Transfiguration - the glory of God the Son, the Hypostatic Union, the Voice of the Father The Entry Into Jerusalem(*) - His popularity amongst the people, the act of the Palms, the consolation of Mary Magdalene, His actions in the Temple The Institution of the Holy Eucharist - the Consecration of the Blessed Sacrament, the reception of the Blessed Sacrament by Our Lady and the Apostles, His Presence remaining with us (*) Another change but I don’t know where else to put this and I feel it’s important. Once again, I would never recommend anyone doing anything but what the Church tells us to do but I am just thinking hypothetically. FiliMariae, While the Vatican may never embrace your meditative ideas for a weekly cycle of mysteries, I'm sure your creative ideas come from your heart set on God!
Actually, once the Rosary is learned and becomes natural, one can use anything from scriptures to pray. I like to meditate from time to time on the Woman at the well, or the prodigal son, there are many others. Well put, thank you. Peace Mark
I'm with you Mark. After all, the Rosary is meditation on the events in Christ's life. For variety I have chosen various events according to the needs of the day. Fr example, I have used * Jesus calms the storm * Sermon on the Mount *The raising of Lazarus * Healing of the blind man * The Good Samaritan * The road to Emmaus * Thomas meets Christ risen * Jesus is tempted in the desert ...evenSt John in prison and the call of Saul [St Paul] Rosary for peace, now!
