Latest Medjugorje Message, March 25, 2026 “Dear children, The poison of selfishness and hatred rules human hearts and that is why you do not have peace. I am calling you, little children: be love and my extended hands to all those whom you meet. In humility, pray for peace and work on reconciliation among people, so that it may be good for every person on earth. Thank you for having responded to my call. ”
I didn’t know that the sequel to the film The Passion – Resurrection, directed by Mel Gibson, which will be released in two parts—with the first coming out exactly on today’s date, March 26, 2027 would be without Jim Caviezel and the entire original cast. Honestly, I find that deeply disappointing. I know we shouldn’t become attached to people in that way, especially to those who portray Christ, because we cannot say of anyone that they are truly worthy of that role. Still, Jim delivered a fantastic performance, and before that he had acted, in my view, in at least ten morally inspiring films, almost as if God had been preparing him for this role—though of course, not with certainty. His deep faith, his ability to convey emotion and Christ’s suffering, are among the main reasons why that film had such a powerful impact on audiences and so strongly conveyed God’s love for humanity. Mel Gibson is a man of deep faith who has stumbled along that path, and I hope this decision is truly a plan based on age—which may have become an insurmountable obstacle here so that a younger cast was chosen, rather than it being due to politics, ideology, or the influence of a powerful Jewish lobby that also caused significant issues during the first film. My personal view is that even the timing of the film’s release is not a coincidence. It has been 23 years, and now it is happening amid incredible historical events in the Middle East involving Israel, Iran, Syria, and Lebanon, along with what is happening in Ukraine and the broader ideological climate. If you look back, The Passion was released when Pope John Paul II was on the papal throne, and George W. Bush was in his first term. People generally believed there were only two genders, and that women could only give birth. The world has certainly changed and unfortunately, I can’t say it has changed for the better. Cast: Jaakko Ohtonen as Jesus, replacing Jim Caviezel Mariela Garriga as Mary Magdalene, replacing Monica Bellucci Kasia Smutniak as Mary, replacing Maia Morgenstern Pier Luigi Pasino as Peter, replacing Francesco De Vito Riccardo Scamarcio as Pontius Pilate, replacing Hristo Naumov Shopov Rupert Everett Because of the time frame in which “The Resurrection of the Christ” takes place — three days after Christ’s crucifixion on Good Friday — “it made sense to recast the whole film,” a source close to the production told Variety. “They would have had to do all this CGI stuff, all this digital stuff — de-aging and all that — that would have been very costly,” the source noted.
