Sigh. What a drag to have to fend off trolls. Thank you for being vigilant John and Padraig and Brian. Very much appreciated.
I had a bad feeling about this person for a while before she ever showed her true colors. Thanks for banning that bad actor.
I felt that Mariaba had good insights but her posts consisted in a series of seemingly unrelated conepts and certainly unrelated to the topic being discussed. I believe she may have had some degree of personality disorder, as indeed we can all be subject to. Her posts seemed designed to assert her theological dominance over everyone and then having asserted it to seize the reins of the forum and move it in the direction she wished. So I think she had an agenda but maybe was sincere in her aims in that she believed what she was doing was of God. I think her mask slipped in one of her early posts when she talked in an inappropriate manner of a 'bunch of prayer warriors'. I will pray for her and everyone that we may come to know the truth and act accordingly. Praised be Jesus Christ!
I think she still served God very well in that, at least for myself, there was a need to discover more in regards to the subject of Our Lady Co-Redemptrix. I like being challenged to discover more. I also have a lot more hope for the future, understanding how the nature of Christ operates in Our Lady. Embracing the cross and doing what he tells us has the unique outcome of Christ coming into the world. Becoming his mothers, brothers and sisters. In these days of bizarre stuff with AI, governments, pandemics, wars, economies and such, which are all based on the materialistic world view. The entering of Christ into our lives by the examples of Jesus and Our Lady helps us to have a higher perspective. I know for myself I am happier having crosses because it helps me to know that Christ is near, it's part of the paradox of His presence, His manifestation in our lives, which somehow heals the fear and pain from an emotional perspective. So I see all the bizarre stuff, know it is non-sense, and keep on moving in the spirit. I am sure if I get hit with a big enough cross between the eyes it will still crush me, but deep down I know its part and parcel of the Way.
I went to Confession to a good priest who told me that we don’t know who we are talking to on these platforms, since it might be the devil. That’s what he said. And he told me not to worry about it.
Same here. I was thinking AI. I'm wrong a lot of times. Figured it was best to watch, wait, and pray.
I don’t understand the need for this document. Pope Benedict had decided against proclaiming the fifth Mariam dogma and let it lie. Fernandez seems to have been triggered by traditional Catholics online who campaign for it. So is his beef really with traditional Catholics then? It would seem so. I have never been given a specifically Marian faith but I believe that she is the Mediatrix of all graces and co-redeemer. I haven’t read the document but I gather that although it denies these titles it then explains why they are true. Why can’t these people just shut up? During the apparitions at Rue de Bac our Lady appeared with rays emanating from rings on both hands. Some graces were claimed and others were not. Surely this is proof from heaven that graces come through her? I said that I am not a Marian soul but I must be more than I realised because this recent drivel from the Vatican fills me with the deepest sadness. These titles have belonged to the Mother of God for centuries but no one has been obliged to use them. One of the reasons for the Five First Saturdays is to make reparation for insults to Our Lady, which so distress and outrage her Son. I had heard that Fernandez had wanted to downgrade Fatima. It’s all of a piece, isn’t it? I fear there will be consequences. I dread to think what all this is leading to. Lord have mercy on the Church!
I'm far from a model for what a Catholic should be with all my faults , but I was devastated when I heard about this Vatican document, because no glory should be taken away from Mother Mary, who is second only to God in perfection. I think we should take this time to draw closer to her.
When I read the part saying Mary must not be seen as a "lightning rod" for God's justice, I thought he must not believe in Fatima then. In the 3rd secret, an angel of justice was about to strike the axis of the world with a flaming spear, and Mary stopped him by touching the tip of the spear, causing the flames to die away. If that isn't Mary being a lightning rod for the justice of God, I don't know what is. I agree, downplaying Mary even in the slightest right now, when our world is "hanging by a thread" as Mary said in Argentina in the 1980's, is pretty much the worst thing to do. God wills to extend His mercy to the world through Mary. It kind of feels like this is removing the restrainer.
A great clip Brian, but I am one who takes precautions to uphold our Blessed Mother's uniqueness and purity simply. I am reminded of other words of St. Louis De Montfort concerning Our Lady: ...She is nothing at all because He only is "He who is", and thus by consequence that great Lord, always independent and sufficient to Himself, never had, and has not now, any absolute need of the Holy Virgin for the accomplishment of His will and for the manifestation of His glory. And yet we know the great saint who loved Our Lady so much also said: “The more a soul is consecrated to Mary, the more it will be consecrated to Jesus Christ...Through devotion to Mary, Jesus himself enlarges the heart with a holy trust in God, causing him to be seen as Father and inspiring a tender and filial love.” In these two quotes I find the holy balance to forge ahead and bring joy to Mary, our Co-Redemptrix! I do find the encyclical far too accommodating to the hesitation of Protestants, focusing on the Scriptures alone and lacking in the tributes given to Mary by the saints. May we never fail to follow the example of the saints and Popes who extol the privileges granted her by God. 41 And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit 42 and she exclaimed with a loud cry, “Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb! 43 And why is this granted me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? 44 For behold, when the voice of your greeting came to my ears, the babe in my womb leaped for joy. 45 And blessed is she who believed that there would be a fulfilment of what was spoken to her from the Lord.” O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
I try to always look at the upside in all things no matter how terrible to help me stay positive. I think a huge good thing is the huge wave of backlash from everywhere against this horrible document. It reminds me of that old motto, 'Don't tread on me'. Catholics don't like their Mother being insulted so really they made a huge huge mistake here. But there is something so strange and weird here. Why on Earth was this document published in the first place? Why at this time? Why not leave the waters untroubled? It has poured a whole ocean of troubles on their wicked heads? Why not leave well enough alone? Had they not enough to be going on with? The only answer I can find is that the demons who hate the Mother of God urged them to take this huge risk and do it. Impurity always hates purity.
That is true. How many times have we heard of Our Lady holding back the hand of God's Justice. You should turn the wrath of God away from yourselves by your efforts. If you ask His forgiveness with sincere hearts, He will pardon you. I, your mother, through the intercession of Saint Michael the Archangel, ask you to amend your lives. You are now receiving the last warnings. I love you very much and do not want your condemnation. Pray to us with sincerity and we will grant your requests. You should make more sacrifices. Think about the passion of Jesus.
