I serve on my parish's finance council and sometimes it is hard to stay silent but I know we really should try not to bad mouth or get upset with priests publicly but it is not easy. We started with a prayer like always and the priest in his prayer said that we pray that the next Pope is just as good is the last one. I just don't understand things sometimes. There are so many priests that want the church to mold to the world. The moment you do that you are not longer the church that Jesus built, you have changed it into something it never was. I don't want a Pope of the world. I want a Pope from God. I want a Pope the world despises for the most part because so much in the world these days is disgusting. It would be an honor for the world to not like the Pope or the church.
It is too dark on live cam to tell what color the smoke will be when it cones. They are 45 minutes past "expected" time. Who knows what that might mean?
I just read that the first session always takes longer due to them doing a 'state of the church' meditation, appointing the scruntineers, etc and the fact that there are 133 cardinals now.
The commentator from the BBC says they expect it to be a long conclave. he is right. It will be like a cage fight in there.
You've got Conor McGregor on your mind again, Pádraig! I know it's serious but I couldn't help that quip.
You expired Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and an ocean of Mercy opened up for the whole world!
One thing I’ve noticed is that, in this conclave, we have a fairly accurate picture of what most papabile cardinals think and which ideological line they would follow. The various reactions to the last pontificate, along with the seemingly endless synods, have drawn a clear dividing line within the Church. Depending on the outcome, we may either breathe a sigh of relief or feel our blood pressure rise at the sound of Cardinal Dominique Mamberti’s voice.

The name of Spanish Cardinal Cristóbal López Romero has also appeared on the lists of papabili in recent days. By the way, this is the first conclave since I joined the forum.
