My dear sister in law was a big promoter of the Holy Face of Jesus. She started a prayer group in her parish that met on Tuesdays which is day of week dedicated to the devotion to the Holy Face. While we know there is a connection with St. Veronica but also one with St. Theresa! St. Theresa was actually the most devoted to the Holy Face. St Theresa was the name of her parish !
There's also a priest having daily videos & reflections for the Holy Face novena .. Sister Saint Pierre is another mystic from Brittany, in France. Since I've been praying this novena, my prayers are being answered everyday, in unexpected ways. The most important day (so far) was on Day 2. There's a cyclone off the coast that we're worried about, and praying about, and it's been getting cloudy & windier. However, when I started the novena on Day 2, straightaway the sun started shining again & it's been sunny ever since. So I checked the weather forecast and the cyclone is changing its projectory away from the coast. Praise be Jesus & Mary. The Holy Face devotion suddenly seems to be everywhere! I first heard of it from one of Fr Alar’s talks. Since then I have joined the Archconfraternity in France and say the little chaplet daily. Fr Carney, a traditional priest, promotes it online. I’m doing the novena too. So many devotions but this one spoke to my heart.
Wonderful! I'm praying the Holy Face novena with my 6 year old daughter. At her request, we're praying for our new baby to be a girl, with red hair. But first and foremost, that baby be healthy. We had a scare, where my progesterone began to decline, but a couple days into the novena, it began to climb again!
I'm a member of the Archconfraternity as well. Before we moved from our old house, my Holy Face cross sent to me by the Archconfraternity fell off my chain around my neck and went missing for what I thought was forever. I'd assumed it fell off while I was at the store or something, and was pretty sad about it. Well, fast forward to our move...Everything had been taken out of the house and the carpets were vaccuumed. We were saying goodbye to the empty house, when I looked down and saw my Holy Face cross lying on the carpet, right out in the open. It felt like a small miracle.
Prayers are being answered for you & your daughter .. this how they understand the power of our prayers. My grandson also has red hair, it runs on my mother's side of the family (I'm not certain what that emoji represents, but I chose it because he likes wearing sunglasses). When I tell him that prayers are powerful and can push the cyclone away, he keeps praying Matthew 11:25 R. Alleluia, alleluia. I had 3 redheaded babies, 2nd, 4th & 6th child, 2 girls and a boy. My Dad (3rd generation Irish) was red hair and brown eyes and his twin sister was red hair and blue eyes. Both my girls are blue eyed and my son is brown eyed. I love genetics! Praying for God to gift you a healthy redhead!
Wonderful! My husband and I both have some red hair in our family histories...his grandmother and my great-uncle. My hair was red in the sun as a kid, and my brother has a red beard (blond hair on his head). So far I've got a boy with brown hair, girl with golden brown hair, and two blond boys. All of them have blue eyes.
I joined the Archconfraternity from the UK and received a small leaflet with my name and date of enrolment, a holy card of Leo Dupont and a booklet of prayers which is sadly misprinted. No medal or cross! The booklet doesn’t matter as I found a much more complete manual of prayers secondhand online. I have a lot of rosary making stuff and have made myself and a friend a couple of chaplets. These are overpriced online. I cannot believe the prices quoted. It’s a very small thing, takes about half an hour to make. Really no biggie.
