Here's the latest update from Father Amer, what do you expect in the coming days?

"This time, there is a lot of uncertainty. The latest political developments are not encouraging. But one thing is certain: I will not leave. I intend to fully share this tragic experience with the people who are suffering.

And to those of you watching from afar, I ask: pray for us. Pray for us, never stop praying for us. Because we need it. And because it is the only truly useful thing you can do for us right now".

Father Amer Jubran is the parish priest of the Latin Catholic Church in Jenin, in the occupied West Bank. Originally from Nazareth, he was a formator at the Latin Patriarchate Seminary of Jerusalem in Beit Jala before being transferred to Jenin.

Fr. Jubran spoke to L’Osservatore Romano about the situation in the embattled Palestinian city.

“We are now on the 17th day of the city's occupation by the Israeli army,” he said. “We continue to live barricaded in our homes, afraid to even step outside to buy food.”

Israeli soldiers entered Jenin on January 21, virtually coinciding with the start of the ceasefire in Gaza.

The timing has led many observers to believe that the Israeli government launched the operation to appease the more extremist factions of its majority, who opposed the ceasefire and threatened to bring down the government.

Before the Israeli incursion, Jenin had already been experiencing weeks of continuous clashes between armed factions in the refugee camp and the Palestinian Authority's security forces.

“Ours is the only Christian church still open in Jenin. In the surrounding villages, there are also Melkite and Orthodox communities," explained Fr. Jubran. "We are a small community of just 80 families, but they are all deeply attached to their identity and very devout. This is not the first time Israeli forces have occupied Jenin. Last August, the IDF entered the city for ten days, but what is now most concerning is not only the intensity of the clashes but also their duration. There is a real fear that this occupation could become permanent."

I bet if you watch anyone talking long enough while they fiddle around with their hands, you'll be able to get a snapshot that looks like a masonic symbol.

These are communication skills, the basis of holding hands during a conversation, especially if it is about business or within the media.

I do the same when I lead something in front of a large number of people, sometimes I don't know what to do with my hands. It's great for me when I have paper, so I'm holding it or a slide switch. Most politicians, actors, presenters pass communication skills. That's why 90% of today's bureaucrats sound like copy/paste, completely identical.

In my opinion, Trump really gained popularity because he sounded like an ordinary person and said what ordinary people want without political correctness. However, his gestures and the way he holds certain poses show that he has gone through the school of public speaking and communication.

Oh, for goodness sake, stop beating around the bush, wriggling around looking for excuses to explain away pure evil. The US and Britain are equally responsible with Israel for the suffering they have imposed on the Palestinians.

During his previous term of office, Trump gave the full support of the United States of America to the Israeli occupation of the Golan Heights which is Syrian land. He has given and continues to give full support to Israeli terrorism. His most recent statement that Israel will give America ownership of Gaza is proof that he endorses the Israeli position that Palestinians are sub-human. Gaza is Palestinian land. Israel has no right to give it to anyone, and the US has no right to take it. He said that citizens of the world will live in his rebuilt Gaza and that some Palestinians will also live there. The sheer hubris of it brings further disgrace on him and the nation he represents.

At this stage, the only statement he could make that would be worth listening to would be along these lines:

"On behalf of the American people, I apologise for the terror and havoc my country has visited on the Palestinian people. I accept and apologise for our participation in the ongoing attempts at genocide. In reparation, I pledge the full support of all US federal agencies, services and resources to the Palestinians as they rebuild their homes and infrastructure. The US role will be entirely supportive and all decisions will be made by Palestinian leaders, chosen by Palestinians. As a down payment of our commitment to pay reparations to the Palestinian people, the 1 billion US dollars I had pledged in military aid to Israel is hereby rescinded and, instead, $1 bn. will be transferred immediately to a Palestinian restoration and rebuilding fund."

Of course, such a statement would likely lead to his impeachment, proving without a shadow of a doubt that the US is indeed guilty of the genocide.

As for the British, the best service they can do for humanity is simply go home, stay home and mind their own business.

Perhaps Trump's plan is the last chance for innocent Palestinians to be displaced before they are used as human shields in the hands of Hamas. Moreover, there is the issue of the cycle of hatred against Israel imposed by Hamas on poor children who are not to blame for not knowing the Holy Scriptures, which define the role of the Jews at the end of times when they will convert.

Now, believing in the humanitarian intentions of Trump and Kushner for the development of Gaza on top of rubble and corpses would be as naïve as believing that Putin is planning a moral crusade and a Christian restoration in Ukraine amid the ruins of Ukrainian churches and much bloodshed.

It's perfectly fine for you to have a different opinion.
For me personally, I claim that I am not yet able to categorise many things.
It's not my intention to beat about the bush. In your opinion, what is that?
Because of the crimes committed against Palestinians, I agree. Ethnic cleansing, I agree. US support for the whole thing, I agree.
Trump/USA is still fully behind Israel, I agree.
But as I said - I wouldn't want to predict what will happen in the Middle East.
Of course, there are Kushner's statements, the plans for a Greater Israel and now Trump's statements.
But how things will develop in reality - we'll have to wait and see.

Before withdrawing from the region, the USA should make two meaningful regime changes.
One in Israel and one in Syria.

It may well be that Trump is continuing to work on the grand plan of powerful backers and just relabelling it ‘conservative’.
As we have often written - our opinion on this is irrelevant, time will tell. We can pray, that's the only thing we can do to have an influence.

Beating about the bush is to disregard what Trump in saying now on the grounds that what he does will prove that he means something better. I gave you an example of what he has done which proves that his intentions are not good. Israel breaks international law at will with the full suppprt of the US. That's the past and prrsent aituation and all the indications are that the future will be no different under Trump. To achieve his goal, he must rid Gaza of Palestinians. To put lipstick on the ethnic cleansing/genocide pig, he will need to have some Palestinians living there (Jared's friends won't clean their own toilets). The only Palestinians permitted will be heavily vetted and subservient to the US/Israel. He doesn't want to put US troops on the ground so will likely continue the US/British/Israeli tactic of using mercemaries, proxies or sheep sipped special forces. Where's the justice in that? What kind of peace or reparation is it for the crimes those countries have committed against the people of Palestine? And what kind of precedent does it set for the future of the entire world?

The infamous "Rules Based Order" might suit the US in the short term, but what if the future brings a shift in the global balance of power? Whose rules and order will prevail then and what grounds will the West have to disregard those rules? When you are top dog is the time to set the rules for the way you would want to be treated if you were the underdog.

Frankly, Steve, the world doesn't have enough lipstick to disguise the nature of the Anglo/American/Israeli alliance's shenanigans in the Middle East and no amount of maybe or wait and see straw clutching will make it better.

Looking at all the contenders for top dog now (North, South, East or West), we can be sure that, short of divine intervention, hard times lie ahead for Catholic who, to paraphrase Senator Feinstein, have the dogma living loudly in them, and there's no shortage of Catholics in the political class willing to bury their faith for the right price or a better position.

When does the cycle of hatred against the Palestinians by the Zionists end? When they're all dead? Trump is talking of ethnically cleansing them from Gaza, to Jordan and Egypt, in defiance of all moral decency and any semblance of international law. The Zionists have recently laid claim to Egypt and Jordan for their 'Greater Israel' (why not, they seem to rule the world, anyway), so the Palestinians still won't be safe. There is no comparison with Putin, who is only reacting to the neo-cons who started it.

Either Trump is pulling a very fast one or you are absolutely right. I worry that he is doing the populist things in order to keep Christian people on side, in order to facilitate the Zionist cause. We'll soon know who's really in charge.

I don't so much want to wait for his actions because I think he means better, I'm more concerned with the fact that I can't yet see what the outcome will be on a global level.
So far, he has only used words to achieve his goals in a simple way.
The Middle East will not be as easy to reshape as Colombia or Denmark/Greenland.
Above all, I don't know what role Trump will play in the grand plan, the ‘Great Reset’.
Creating more chaos by attacking Iran, is that it? Or is Trump a hindrance?
The suffering of the people in Gaza, in Ukraine and elsewhere in the world is worse.
But like you, I believe that without divine intervention it will get more worse and spread further. Is it clear to you that Trump is deliberately acting in favour of the evil side?

Islamic radicalism feeds on verses of hatred against Jews and Christians that are independent of a territorial dispute with Israel; therefore, mutual hatred will not end until fundamentalist groups like Hamas are defeated. There is a fair comparison of Putin with any fundamentalism in the world, whether from Zionists or Muslims; just consider the treatment he gives to his political opponents and the treatment of the Ukrainian church to discover who he really is. Just imagine what would happen if separatist groups called for the separation of Russian territory before 2022, similar to what occurred in Ukraine. By the way, I think any of his narratives should be disregarded after all the claims that there was Western hysteria instead of an imminent invasion in 2022. I myself agreed with this narrative and even said, a few years ago here on the forum, that he was the greatest leader defending Christianity in the world; I am not ashamed to admit this, just as I am not ashamed to admit that I was wrong. So, this is a subject on which we will always agree to disagree.

I don't disagree with you as much as you might think. I certainly don't consider Putin as any kind of hero, but it's hard not to root for him when the alternatives are people like Biden, Netanyahu, Zelensky and our EU 'leadership', not to mention all the woke abominations that he opposes.

It is becoming increasingly obvious that Jesus Christ is the only Hero we can rely on.

Saudi arabia has a (good quality) tent city which is empty all year except on hajj pilgrimage, they could easily help fellow muslim (palestinians), but don't. Hence why most other muslim leader, thinks saudi is an USA asset more or less. Incidentally, ISIS didn't attack israel because they wanted to attack saudi first, considering them biggest defilers of islam.

Literally, the Israeli army was created from terrorist organizations, the entire history of Palestinian-Jewish conflicts since the 1920s begins with mutual conflicts. If you don't have an organized army that Palestine can't have, then you have a resistance movement that has a specific name.

If someone kills and terrorizes your family, fellow citizens, destroys your home and country, then you will be part of the resistance against that aggressor, which in the case of Palestine is Israel. Hamas represents a revolt against Israel and a rebellion against such treatment, a child of a few years old whose whole family is crushed becomes a Hamas member. The former Israeli prime minister admitted that if he were in the place of the Palestinians, he would be a Hamas member, and anyone with a little sense who lives there would be. Everything else is lies and manipulative, you can fight and die or surrender and they will kill you again. You have no other choice, and as it is in human nature to fight for life, then you join those who have some kind of idea to fight.

Why is Israel bombing so many civilians? Why do they want to move them out? Why is Trump lobbying the surrounding countries to receive them, and even considering moving them to the USA? Because as long as there are Palestinians, there is also Hamas, which is part of the identity of the survival of the people in that area.

Interview with Christians in Gaza from February 14, 2024:

"Shelter centers are not safe. The Israeli military randomly raids the shelters and rounds up all the refugees. They kill some and forcibly displace the rest.
It is much worse than what you see on the screen. Life is shattered here. There are no safe shelters for people to find refuge. Sometimes people go to already-shelled houses and make tarp roofs with whichever material they find, and Israelis re-shell them all over again.
The destruction is systematic, leaving us without shops, pharmacies or businesses. A systemized destruction. This is the status quo.!"

Will members of Gaza’s small Christian community remain after the fighting finally stops?
"Despite being outside the immediate conflict, we, as Palestinians, remain committed to our homeland, rejecting the idea of mass emigration, even though it crosses the minds of many Christians.
While some contemplate leaving after the war, a substantial number of us resist such a notion. We are Palestinians, not Europeans, and we should stay here and protect our churches from becoming ashes due to the ravages of war. We are determined to preserve the Christian presence in Palestine. This is our homeland, and we are staying here."
