Much of the corruption of the Reformation began with monks. How many monastic orders and nunneries became corrupt after Vatican II? When the ideological consensus of poverty, chastity and obedience was replaced by 'lurv' and 'anything goes', everything went. Unfortunately, it seems likely that they are just as vulnerable to encroaching modernism in the East. I think it more likely that salvation is going to come from the South. We recently had the feast day of Saint Charles Lwanga, ironically canonised during the aforementioned Vatican II. That's the kind of spirit we need, recently echoed by the African bishops in response to the sodomy document.
They also had yet another Schism lately in which the Russian Orthodox fell out with the Bulgarian Orthodox. Also the Russian Orthodox seem to be blessing Putin's wars as though they were cheer leaders. I am afraid they are simply a State Church. I don't write this out of nastiness but some Catholics, outraged by Papa Frankie, are fleeing to Orthodoxy as some kind of safe refuge. But it is not. It is a case of out of the frying pan and into the fire. I am not sure either if the new Russian Military Cathedral was such a hot idea either:
I had some interesting dreams regarding Latin America and Africa which seemed to point to what you are thinking. One thing the global south is rich in is suffering, essentially they have merit because of their devotion to Our Lady.
I have the impression that when the holy pope arrives, almost all of Christianity will be fragmented, including Catholicism itself, the Orthodox Church, and Protestantism, which is already historically fragmented. This ties into the sense of Carmelite spirituality represented in various Marian apparitions: Elijah, the founding father of the Carmelite Order, restores the altar of the Lord that was in ruins.
I am afraid when I look at many of my fellow Catholics including their leaders I think of what St Paul said: 2 Corinthians 6:14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? Good cannot find fellowship with what is evil. Happily the time has not yet come when I have to avoid certain Catholic Churches that I might go to but it is plain enough that the time is coming when it will be so. https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/...es-lgbt-flags-on-coffins-in-mexican-cathedral
I was thinking more along the lines of Christianity before the great split between East and West. Two lungs. Yeah, there were heresies all over the place; nothing new there. But the Saints (east & west) then are still Saints of the Church now. I was thinking more along the lines of how, when looking at the practicing of the Faith by those Saints, they conquered the evil swirling around them, we could find help in our time, especially given what's transpiring.....everything is fragmented. (St. Anthony of the Desert would not likely be impressed with 300-400lb monks). All the good helpful pieces of the puzzle are scattered everywhere, with some (many) "fake" pieces being thrown in the mess. Again, I think Tolkien somehow describes this - King Theoden (east) is under an evil spell. So is the "steward of Gondor" (west). But the east wakes up first and rides to help the west. Maybe it's childish of me, but it gives me great hope.
I don't know if this is prophetic or is the writing on the wall. But Sam Shamoun suggests there is going to come a time where genuine believers of all denominations are going to have to come together and support each other. A kind of ecumenism by fire.

I think that this may already be happening. Have a look at some Catholic utube videos, Dr Taylor Marshall for instance with the Anglican Minister , Calvin Robinson. They were like brothers in arms. Amazing
We've had that happen on our little island a few years ago; pre-pandemic. Made the national news. Nothing for anyone to do but weep because righteous anger is brushed off like so much lint. So be it.....The priest passed away during the pandemic.....many prayers were said for his soul. But yes, best to avoid that parish....no good could come from it..... https://atlantic.ctvnews.ca/catholic-priest-flies-pride-flag-in-front-of-church-1.4055963
Thanks for the information, it's good to see. I will have to check out those videos. Sam Shamoun was saying to the people in his chat that everyone had better start getting along with other genuine believers, because one day we are going to have to rely on each other. There are bigger fish to fry essentially. As well, we don't necessarily know where people are on their conversion path, and that accusations and fighting only cause people to entrench and defend their positions. Taylor Marshall and Sam Shamoun are both Catholic converts. So it doesn't surprise me that they seem to be on the same page.
I watched most of it and it was nice to see them both having a cordial discussion at a high level regarding church authority. Which for me demonstrates the action of the Holy Spirit. I had to laugh when Mar Mari was brought up, because everyone loves him but he is also considered a heretic because of Nestorianism. However Nestorius was not actually a "nestorian".
