Would Democrats like to see Pence nominated by Republicans after the split with Trump as a form of damage control, by isolating Trump from the very electorate that elected him in 2016 ? .
Pence IMHO is a man who would fit their check list. I think DeSantis who is supported by the Bush clan would also serve their purpose.

In many places like Argentina, Sri Lanka, Venuezuala, France, Brazil, Israel and Pakistan far, far worse, not to speak of nations actively at War. This is all part of the Chastisement. The entire planet is in a ferment.
You know more people in the USA and throughout the world were tuned in on Cable TV to watch flying into the Court House than watched any event in all human history. Yet Trump is only one of many huge historic things that are going on in the World. Yet it is a popcorn thing to people. No one seems to think about the wider picture; that everything we've known as normal is out the window. We're not in Kansas anymore Tutu.

I am sure most of the American members are following the news, but maybe rest of you are not (or tired of it ), but President Trump case is now in hands of the jury. Regardless of how you feel about him or the case itself, this imo is a very pivotal moment in the history of the United States of America. My sense is no matter the verdict the country will be further splintered and divided. I don’t expect any immediate reaction from either side but impacts on this Republic will not be good.
It used to appear to me that Trump was better than Biden. But now it seems like there are no good contenders for the presidency. Trump's support of Israel hasn't been positive IMO. Then there is this new piece of information. Which indicates to me that regardless of who wins the US election, war is coming. For me, this is another indicator of prophecy unfolding.
I’m not commenting or concerned about a Biden or Trump or any politician per se as the next President. There will always be disagreement on policy and style, etc. I’m much more concerned on the damage to what I call the psyche of the Republic. I think on both sides, most people think the system is rigged and it’s not working. They don’t trust the process of government anymore. And when this happens in a Republic or even Democracy it can lead to bad outcomes. In the past, whike one side might have been disappointed in election results, they accepted it because they felt process was fair - it was the voice of the people. I would say now that 5he vast majority of Americans as I said on both sides don’t think this way anymore. We're in uncharted waters
